Chapter 29

Sonic tried to look for Rouge, as he knew she should be worried about her partner. When they arrived they found the area completely destroyed, there was only land. At the center of the destruction they found the two black hedgehogs lying on the floor. But there was someone else. Rubies, who hugged the body of his fallen companion, while wept over him.

Rouge did the same with Shadow. But after a few seconds, Shadow opened his eyes. Rouge was relieved and hugged him tighter.

"Please Rouge, so you'll end up killing me."

Rouge then released him and he can get up. "Rouge. Sonic. I need you to help me find my rings."

Sonic understood what it was about and quickly ran to look for it.

"I have one with me, Shadow." Rouge then took off his glove, on his wrist was an inhibiting ring.

"But when do you...?"

"Then I promise to tell you, handsome."

Sonic arrived shortly thereafter with the other two rings and handed them to Shadow.

"Quickly put those rings on him, maybe he still has a chance." Shadow was now kneeling beside them, with his arm extended towards them, his inhibiting rings in his hand.

Rubies at first did not move, she had not understood how rings could make any difference to the Umbra state.

"Trust him." Rouge spoke.

Rubies then wiped the tears from his face, took Shadow's rings and put them on Umbra's wrists. After putting them on, the two rings flashed for a moment. Everyone waited for some reaction from Umbra's body. Time passed, but nothing happened afterwards. Rubis started to cry again on the body of the fallen companion. But then she opens her eyes and turns her head away from the hedgehog. She will hear your heart beat. Then everyone saw, Umbra's chest rose and fell. He was breathing again.
