duff sighed to himself as he watched joey pace across the room , twirling the phone cord around her finger as she giggled along to whatever her friend was telling her on the phone .
the two had planned a nice cosy day with just the two of them seeing as duff finally had some free time from the studio ,
something that was rare these days and he wanted nothing more than to cuddle with his girlfriend and rest easy .
but that had all started to unravel as soon as she left the bed , claiming that she just needed to go out for a few things for dinner .
and three hours later she had arrived back home with her arms full of shopping bags , handing him back his credit card with a cheerful grin .
he couldn't even find it in himself to be mad at her , he knew that she hated staying in and was always on the go doing something or other .
whether it be days trips or shopping with her girlfriends , a new party or gig . she was always on her feet and he started to wonder if he had ever actually seen her relax other than when she crashed each night .
"baby .." he almost whined throwing his head back against the pillow behind him as he tucked his arms behind his head ,
watching through half lidded eyes as she flicked through her ever growing closet , chatting away about what she wanted to wear to some party that one of her friends was holding .
joey looked over her shoulder at him with a curious tilt of her head , frowning slightly
"yeah , I know . I was thinking the cute satin one ." she told her friend on the phone before pulling it away from her mouth to look at her needy boyfriend who was putting at her .
"I'll be one minute babe okay?" she promised him simply before disappearing into the bathroom to fiendish talking to her friend .
leaving duff to groan loudly to himself in annoyance , glaring up at the ceiling as he pulled the covers up to his chin .
'so much for cuddles and sleeping in' he thought to himself with a frown .
around another hour later and joey was finally done with her conversation , pushing her perfectly styled hair from over her shoulder as she walked back into there bedroom .
smiling to herself at the sight of duff cuddled into one of her pillows , her heart melting in her chest as she slowly approached the bed .
"duff baby? are you awake?" she whispered to him hopefully , settling down on the sheets beside him and running her hand through his soft hair , pushing it away from his face so she could see him .
getting a grumpy glare in response as he huffed , turning his face away from hers like a child would .
"I've been awake since you disappeared this morning joey , I thought we were gonna have a cosy night in ? just you and me . " he muttered , not being able to stop the small sigh from escaping his lips at the feeling of her fingers running through his hair .
she knew just what to do to keep him sedated and calm , it was something he both loved and hated especially since he could never stay mad at her long enough these days .
not when she was looking at him like that with her big pretty eyes and sheepish smile , god damn it .
joey winced to herself guiltily knowing that he was right , pulling her hand away from his hair to pull the covers back and crawl into the bed next to him .
his arm automatically going over her waist as he turned his body over to place his head onto her chest , snuggling into her side with a soft sigh .
she smiled to herself as she wrapped her arm around his shoulders and pulled him closer , resting her head against his gently .
"I'm sorry duff , I just got side tracked . you know what I'm like . " she defended herself quietly getting a small snort in response .
resting his chin on her chest as he looked up at her with a raise of his brow , his lips tilted in amusement .
"I know , I'm not mad but still you owe me for leaving me all alone in bed . " he teased her , his grin growing as he looked up at her mischievously .
she laughed and shook her head , rolling her eyes
"and what do I owe you ? cookies?" she guessed.
he paused at that , titling his head in thought . subconsciously licking his lips as he thought of the beautiful gooey chocolate chip cookies she made him .
"well ... yes but I was also thinking about something else . something just as yummy and sweet.." he trailed off trailing his hand up her side and skimming over her breasts , a familiar twinkle in his eye as he smirked back at her .
joey giggled and cupped his face in her hands , her nose brushing softly against his before finally giving him what he had been wanting all morning .
and duff let out a content breath , smiling against her mouth as he sunk into her embrace and kissed her back .
there tongues brushing together slowly as she wrapped her legs around his waist to pull him closer .
moaning quietly as he pulled away to press soft kisses down her jaw until he reached her neck , sucking , licking and nibbling until she was squirming underneath his chest .
"duff.." she sighed blissfully , her eyes falling closed as he pulled away to look at the marks that now littered her beautiful skin .
a satisfied smirk tugging at his lips as he looked down at her , his heart clenching in his chest as he realised just how in love with this girl he was .
"I'm gonna marry you soon ." he told her firmly getting her attention again , intertwining his fingers with hers .
imagining a pretty diamond ring on her finger that he was going to put there . he wanted her to be his wife .
joey could only smile , love and admiration shining brightly in her eyes
"and I'm gonna say yes baby ." she promised him getting a small tearful grin in return .
before he pulled the cotton covers over his shoulders and lowered his body back down to hers , sliding his hand up her skin .
