Deeks POV
"This past month has been so strange," Kensi whispered, turning her head slightly to look at me. We were laying on the sand, our fingers intertwined, staring up at the stars. It was past midnight and pitch dark; we had been laying there in silence for a while.
"Tell me about it! Esspesially the last two weeks,"
"But think about it. Jack came back,"
"Twice, "
"Yeah. And you got sent on an undercover mission that almost got us both killed! It's been crazy!" She whisper shouted. I hummed in agreement.
"Is that why you set this date up?" I questioned.
"Yes and No," She said, "It was part of the reason,"
"And the other part?"
"I love you Deeks. You're my entire world. You do anything and everything for me, and I never really thank you for it. So I guess it's my way of thanking you,"
"Princess, I love doing things for you, you don't have to thank me for it. You're everything to me and you deserve the world. I can't give it to you, but I try my hardest,"
"That's exactly the point Deeks. You have given me the world! You are my world!"
"I love you Kensi, more than anything or anyone in the world,"
"I love you too Deeks," She whispered. We stayed in silence for a while after that, thinking about the words we had just exchanged.
"Ya know something cool? After the thing with Sidroff, the torture, I came here seeking an escape. The beach has always been my escape, ever since I was young. But this time, it didn't work. I couldn't escape the tortuous images and memories that clouded my brain, nothing worked." I started, "But somehow, whenever I'm around you, I felt safe. All my demons would dissappear. And they still do. You're my safe place Kens, you're my everything,"
"Deeks, I-"
"I love you Kensi, more than I could ever express. There's no words to describe just how much I freaking love you. And sometimes, that scares the hell out of me. Screw that, it always scares the hell out of me. But ya know what? It's worth it princess."
"You're worth it, " I tell her.
