Kensi's POV

It was way past lunchtime by the time we were ready to leave. After leaving the beach, I told Deeks that I was meeting up with Nell and that I'd be back in an hour or so. I wasn't exactly lying, I just, well, missed out a few details. Like how Eric, Callen and Sam would be there as well. And that we're setting up a perfect date.

"Kensalina, text me in a bit okay? So I know you're okay!" Deeks shouts as I start to leave my flat.

"I'll be fine Deeks!" I reply, smiling gently at how protective he is. It used to annoy me but these days I find it endearing.

"Text me anyway okay? Please?" He begged, walking up to me.

"Okay, I'll text you, I promise," I agreed, rolling my eyes at him.

"I know I'm being overprotective, and I realise that it's probably really annoying, but you mean to much to me. I'm not risking losing you, even if you're only going out with Nell. I love you too much" He explains, taking a deep breath afterwards and looking at me nervously.

"I love you too Deeks and I don't find it annoying. Not really," I say, quickly pecking his lips, "Now I've got to go, I'll text you in a bit,”

"Okay Kens, See you later!" He replied before allowing me to leave the house. A few seconds later, Nell pulled up outside and I jumped in the car, grinning at my best friend. Second to Deeks of course.

"Thank you so much Nell!" I acknowledged, "I wouldn't be able to do this without your help."

"It's alright Kens; you know it's my pleasure!" She insisted, focusing on the road. We were speeding to Sam’s house since Michelle had, very kindly, offered to be in charge of the food for the evening. I was extremely grateful since my cooking skills aren’t exactly the best to say the least. I had no idea what she had made, but I knew from experience that Michelle’s cooking skills are amazing.

“We’re here Kens,” Nell said, snapping me back to reality. Grinning at her, I hoped out of the car and jogged up the driveway. I knocked on their large black door and waited patiently for someone to answer. The door was pulled open and I was greeted by Michelle’s friendly face.

“Kensi!” She welcomed, greeting me with a hug.

“Michelle!” I replied, returning her hug. After pulling away she led me inside, showing me to the kitchen. On the way I saw Sam playing with his daughter, which made my heart melt. He was so gentle with her, so caring, and it really warmed my heart.

“He’s amazing with her, he really is,” Michelle commented, smiling at me.

“Yeah, it’s incredible,” I remarked, before following her to the kitchen. She had a large tray with several plates and bowl on it, all producing a wonderful and mouth watering smell.

“Thank you so much Michelle! This is amazing!” I thanked, staring at the food in delight. Tonight was going to be a night to remember.

“Hey Deeks,”

“Hey Kens, you okay?”

“Yeah I’m fine, but I won’t be back till a bit later, will you be okay?”

“Yeah sure, when will you be back?”

“Elevenish,”

“Eleven! What you up to?”

“Nell just got tickets to a truck show, but it’s running late, I’m sorry babe,”

“Nah, its okay, me and Monty will go to the park or something,”

“Okay, have fun!”

“You to,”

“Love you!”

“Love you more,”

“Bye”

Twenty minutes later Nell was pulling up by the beach. We got out of the car and ran down to the sand, my face lighting up when I see what Callens done. It’s perfect.

He’s set up a small white table on the golden sand, two chairs either side of it. There are candles not only on the table, but also surrounding the table. He’s set up loads of small candles in a heart shape surrounding the table. It’s not near enough the ocean to be washed away, but it’s not too far away either.

Basically it’s perfect.

“Is it okay?” Callen asks, walking up to me. I wrap my arms around him, smiling when he returns the hug, although I can basically feel the shock in him.

“Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,” I tell him, pulling away from the hug and beaming at him in excitement.

“I’m glad you like it Kens,” He says, smiling at me. Callen may not be a blood relative, but he’s honestly the best family I could ever ask for.

“Like it? I love it! It’s perfect!” I exclaim, staring in awe at the gorgeous venue.

“Good,” He smiled.

It was almost 11:00pm and everything was in place.

“Hey babe,”

“Hey Kens, you going to be home soon?”

“Not exactly, but don’t worry about it. I need you to do something for me,”

“Are you in trouble? I can be there in five min-“

“No, I’m fine Deeks!”

“Okay, what d’ya need then?”

“Get dressed in your fanciest clothes and wait outside, Eric will pick you up in half an hour,”

“What? Why? Kens, what’s going on?”

“Don’t worry about it okay? Just do as I said and you’ll find out soon enough,”

“Kens,”

“Deeks,”

“Fine, see you in a bit?”

“Thank you,”

“Bye!”

All the candles were lit, the food was ready to be eaten and everyone else had left. Deeks just had to arrive and then everything would begin.

I was wearing a beautiful blue dress that ended below my knees. I knew how much Deeks liked it, although he’d never said anything. My hair was resting on my shoulders, curly, just the way he liked it. My make up was on point, thanks to Nell.

I sat on the sand, staring out at the ocean. It reminded me of my shaggy haired boyfriend in so many ways.

“Hey Princess,”
