Deeks POV
Groaning, I stand up and punch Jack in the face, causing him to fall backwards and make a lot of custamers scream. Kensi looks at me, half amusment, half shock displayed on her face. After sharing a quick glance, we run out of the cafe, never looking back, hoping that we can escape before anything happens. Like that could ever happen. When we reach a small dark ally way, we stop momentarily, panting, laughing when we realised that we were holding hands. I scan the ally way before checking Kensi, making sure that she was ok. Nothing had happend, yet, but I always had to make sure that she was ok. Always. I start to lean over and kiss her, relishing in the fact that I finally got to see her after two weeks. It had been hard, fighting and operating without her, but the nights had been the worse. We had been sleeping together for months and I couldn't sleep without her. Hell, I coulnd't live without her! As my lips are about to meet hers, a bullet whizzes at us. I push Kensi out of the way, only just missing it as Kensi pulls me after her. We get up off the ground and, pulling our guns out, we start running as the guns keep firing at us. Spotting a shooter, I take a shot, hitting the guy, before chasing after Kensi. Wracking my brain, I realise that my safehouse is probably the best place for us right now. I didn't know who was shooting at us, but if it was the guys I was tracking and attempting to kill, my cover was blown and lots of people were going to die. I prayed it wasn't.
Panting heavily, I closed the door behind us.
"What the hell was that?!" Kensi exclaimed, slumping down on the couch.
"No idea Kens, none at all," I reply, sitting next to her and wrapping my arms around her,
"Deeks, why did you contact me? It's risky and could have cost you the OP," Kensi asks me, responding to my hug by burying her head in the crook of my neck and kissing the skin there, making me shiver.
"Cos, I need you Kens," I admit, my voice breaking slightly,
"I know Deeks, but you have to finish this OP, if you don't, millions will die," She whispers, kissing my neck again and again,
"Don't you get it Kens?! How can I finish this OP if I don't have you! Have you seen me! I can't sleep and I can hardly fight, I litterally can't function unless you have my back!" I exclaim, trying to make her understand.
"I'll talk to Granger, ask if I ca-" She starts,
"Kens! He won't listen, I just need your help for a day or two, I'll be able to finish my mission if I have you by my side," I whisper, interupting her, something I rarely do, I don't have a death sentence after all.
"Ok ok, I'll tell the guys I'm sick and help you out," Kensi says, sighing, "But you owe me dinner at the awesome place we went last time," Laughing a bit, I nodd, before kissing her full on the lips and taking her to my bedroom.
Kensi's POV
"Your beautiful, you know," Deeks tells me as we walk to his car,
"Yeah, you've said," I say sarcastically, my grin telling him that I don't mean it. I allow him to drive since I'm not really in the mood for an argument, and we speed off to the pub. He filled me in about the case and we formulated a plan. He reckons that if we can assasinate the last guy tonight, we can return home tommorow or the day afer. I put in my part and the result was amazing.
"Kens, thanks for all of this," Deeks says honestly, looking over at me and smiling, interwining our fingers. I smile back at him, not saying anything in reply, knowing that my eyes would tell him everything he needed to know. We sit in this comfitable silence for the rest of the ride, enjoying the peace that comes with knowing that we're both safe. I internally groan when we reach our destination. Sighing, we get out of the car and enter the pub.
"Come on Princess, let's get this show on the road,"
