Breath-takingly beautiful

Ephraim reached for the stereo to turn it on. Rivermaya's Balisong filled the air as my heart started beating hard against my chest once again.

Your face
Lights up the sky on the highway
Someday
You'll share your world with me
Someday

I shivered when I heard the coldness of the vocalist's voice that when Ephraim suddenly spoke, I jerked on my seat.

"Since I-" humalakhak siya. "Since I was the one who invited you to go out, I would give you the freedom to decide where we'll go."

You mesmerize me, with diamond eyes
I try to fool myself to think I'll be alright
But I am losing all control
My mind, my heart, my body and my soul

Napaisip ako. Ngayong nakalabas na ako sa nakaka-suffocate na lugar na iyon, saan ko ba gustong pumunta? Wala akong maisip.

"Ikaw na lang ang bahala."

Nilingon ko siya nang itinabi niya ang sasakyan. What's the matter?

"Do you trust me?"

Hindi ako kaagad nakasagot kahit alam ko naman na kung pinagkakatiwalaan ko ba siya o hindi. His eyes were locked on mine and this traitor heart didn't stop beating like crazy against my ribcage.

"Do you trust me, Seraiah?" He asked again.

Ephraim leaned closer to reach for my hand and that's when my heart started beating hard against my chest it felt like exploding.

"I want to take you somewhere and all you have to do is to trust me. Okay?"

Ephraim wasn't like everybody else. He stood with me when everbody else left my side. He made me feel safe when I was so afraid. He made me realize that I'm not alone. Not anymore.

I slowly squeezed his hand as I nod my head in response. "Okay."

Binitiwan na niya ang kamay ko at saka humarap sa direksyon ng kalsada. A swift smile escaped from his lips before he stepped on the accelerator and turn the steering wheel.

The twisted trees were dancing along with the cool breeze as we both walk on the cemented ground. Wala nang tao sa lugar dahil gabi na. This is actually my first time visiting this school. Medyo malayo ito sa ospital. Mahigit isang oras ang itinagal ng biyahe namin.

Now, we were both walking on the freshly cut greenfield of the school he was in before he started homeschool.

My eyes widen when I felt my heart beat faster than it should. Ephraim towered as he stood beside me, for he was tall and firm, and there was a touch of amusement on his lips. My feet were locked on the ground when he took a halt and I waited for him to speak.

Ephraim let my hand go as he diverted his gaze to me. He was so perfect and I felt butterflies in my stomach when he suddenly giggled. His laughter was like a music in my ears that kept ringing even after his lips were tightly shut.

I felt something inside me tightened as I gather both of my hands. When I thought my heart won't beat any faster, it gets wilder and I have no idea how to make it calm. The reaction of my body was incredibly fast and very surprising. And it was only him who could make it react that way, isn't he?
