"I can't believe you're making me do this." I grit my teeth together while putting on a skirt that Zane picked out.

"Why? I won the board game, I won the date... What a better time and place than now? No curfew, we can stay out as long as you want, " he turns to look at me as I finish tucking in my shirt, "And maybe I can even talk you into letting me stay the night." he wiggles his eyebrows.

"Says the virgin."

He puts his hand over his heart, "Hurtful!"

I smile to myself for a second, "You brought it up."

It had been two marvelous days at my house with Zane.

No aunt, no Kahale, no school, no Nash, nothing. It may be safe to say that it's been the best time I've had since I got here...

Zane puts his arms around me from behind and rests his chin on my shoulder as I put in earings, "You look marvelous."

"If that's a desperate attempt to get in my pants, it's not working." I joke.

"Technically... You're not wearing any pants." He pecks me on the cheek and lets me go, "Aren't you the one who just made the virgin joke?"

I shrug and turn to him, "Maybe... Maybe you're seeing things."

"You mean, hearing things?"

"Same difference."

"Way to hit the ground running with a double negative."

"What does that even mean?"

Zane thinks for a second, "When you look like this," he motions to his face, "you don't have to make sense."

I roll my eyes, "Way to be modest."

Zane smirks and lays down on my bed, "You're just mad."

"I have no reason to be mad." I smile down at him.

"You're mad because your mother gave birth to a child, and mine gave birth to a legend." He winks at me.

I start to say something, but he cuts me off, "I swear to god, if you say, 'Nash?'" He tries to mimic my voice, "I'm going to flip."

"Harsh words." I wink at him.

"I try. "

Seriously, how could Alexandria ever have let this go?

"You're bringing me to a bar?" I look at Zane, "Are you freaking joking me?"

Zane looks at me with a smirk, "What? You're not into late night bar fights with some guy in a leather jacket named 'Mo'?" He grabs my hand and pulls me towards the bar.

"Are you kidding me?"

"Rae, it's more like a club than a bar anyways."

I plant my feet, "You actually expect for me to go in there with you? I'm 16! How can you even get in there?"

Zane looks at me impatiently, "Just trust me, would you?"

Zane pulls me so we're walking towards the bar once again.

Seriously, he's thinking of taking me to a bar? Some dirty, stank bar on bourbon street on a Wednesday night? Is he stupid or something?!

We weave though people dancing and drinking like maniacs, "I hate you right now." I shout to Zane over the music.

Zane just chuckles in response, and walks up to the counter.

"Zaner! My main man!"

"Big Rob!"
