Alicia woke up the next morning with a dull headache. She loved the way alcohol put her to sleep, but she hated the headaches. Focus. Gotta get answers. Alicia climbed out of bed and gasped at the pain that shot down her leg. "What the-" She looked in the mirror and saw the bruise left by Beelzebub's hand. She pouted and rubbed her leg. "Poor baby."
She quickly changed into a pair of leggings and popped a pain killer. She looked at herself in the mirror and sighed. "She's wrong, and you're gonna prove it." The girl gently wiped her face and brushed her teeth, then took off for Mammon's room.
"Mammon, Mammon?" She knocked on his door hard and waited. "Mammon, I know you're in there. I wanna talk to you." More silence. She grabbed the door handle and sighed. "I'm coming in."
She stepped inside the room and looked around. He wasn't in his bed, and his phone wasn't on the dresser. She walked around the room and gently touched his bed. She felt a blush crawl on her face, remembering that night. There was so much passion, he couldn't have possibly faked that. Her hand gently rested at the base of her neck. She suddenly remembered the necklace she was wearing that night. She hadn't seen it since the ball. "That fucking..." She started looking around the room for her necklace, searching his drawers, under his pillow, under the bed. She sat back on her knees and sighed. "Fine."
She got up and went back to her room, snatched her phone, and texted him.
Have you seen the necklace Diavolo gave me? I think I left it in your room.
She tossed her phone on her bed and decided to get ready for the day. She had classes, and she had to tend to her tasks. She ran down to the kitchen and smiled at Levi, though it vanished when she saw Satan. "Hey, guys." She leaned over the table and snatched up a muffin.
"Morning, you're going to eat more than that, right?" Levi watched her walk away and he got up. "Wait- That's not going to be enough to fuel you today."
"I'll buy more food later. I'm kinda in a rush."
"You should have a seat and eat something," Satan called out with a chuckle. His laugh made her feel uncomfortable, but she knew that if Lucifer found out she virtually skipped breakfast, he'd probably stuff her face for her. She sighed and took a seat at the table.
"How's your head?"
"I'm fine." She avoided eye contact with the fourth born, keeping her eyes on her plate. She got a text and quickly checked it, only to pout when she saw it wasn't from Mammon. "How's yours?"
"Your blows were like kitten swipes." Satan smiled and stabbed at his food. "Alicia, I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I'm sorry."
"What?"
"I didn't mean to lose my temper like that. You might not be very strong, but you were very angry. Angry enough to use the pact like you'd been doing it for a while." Satan sipped from his cup and laughed. "Levi also told me that you were hiding from me."
Alicia glared at the otaku and turned her attention to Satan. "I wasn't hiding."
"Well, whatever you were doing, I apologize. Can we call it even?" Alicia studied Satan's face. She didn't trust what he was saying, something felt like it was simmering at his core. She nodded slowly and got up from the table.
"Okay, we're even." She downed her juice and waved at the two. "I'll see you both later."
The rest of the day went as well as one would expect. Alicia made it through her classes by the skin of her teeth. She was tired, annoyed, and just wanted to sleep. She felt her phone vibrate and she sighed. "What?" She glanced at the screen and the annoyance on her face visibly melted.
