Chapter 25

(following anime episodes 84 and 85)

Part I

          After Hanako got angry and walked away from the rocks where Yusei was standing, he decided to climb back up to the Highway, where Crow was waiting for him. As soon as Yusei started being approachable to Crow's eyes, he started whistling teasingly, like he has seen a sexy lady coming his way, what made Yusei focus his attention to Crow with puzzled look on his face.

"Man, you should've seen the look on her face!" Crow laughed like it was rather funny, "I don't know what you told her, but she sure was pissed as hell!"

          "She went back home?" Yusei just asked indifferently, like he wasn't touched by Crow's teasing words, not a single bit!

"She went that way", Crow pointed to the direction where Poppo Time was, "So I guess she did!" He answered, looking at Yusei; watching how he approached his runner like nothing happened, so he started thinking about what could have happened between him and Hanako and what he said to her that made her return back home, without even resisting and protesting about going with them and stuff. He suddenly got the urge to find out what they talked about, but he knew very well that, if he was going to find out what happened, Yusei is not the one helping him with that, so he decided to ask Hanako when they get back home. Thinking of Hanako, Crow suddenly snapped out of his plans, realising how the transmitter was still in his hand, so he smirked happily, "She left you a small gift", he said loud enough for Yusei to hear him as he swung his hand and threw the transmitter, aiming at Yusei precisely, watching how the transmitter was flying towards Yusei and tracing the shape of the rainbow through the air.

          "Huh?" Yusei was confused at first, watching a small object flying straight to him, before he caught it with his right hand, capturing it in his palm. He moved his fist before his eyes, spreading his fingers and seeing a transmitter on the palm of his hand, smirking at the thought of Hanako, how she just refused to give up on them no matter the cost.

"Well", Crow suddenly murmured, judging by the look on Yusei's face how he knew exactly what Hanako wanted to tell him through the transmitter, "Time to go!"

          "Let's go, Crow!" Yusei shouted with strong determination in his voice, as he started his engine and started cruising over the Highway, so Crow did the same, following his speed flawlessly through the streets of Neo Domino City. As they kept driving in silence, Crow felt like the curiosity is going to kill him, if he doesn't open his mouth, so he moved his head to his right, because Yusei was driving his runner next to him.

"Say, Yus", Crow started, but as soon as Yusei looked at him, Crow moved his eyes back to the road, "You and Baby... Is it just me or you keep on fighting more than you used to?" he asked, but then he realised how they never fought and argued, or at least not so many times in a week and not like this! And it all started ever since she crashed into the sea that night, when she dulled Ghost!

          "I am just trying to protect her, Crow", Yusei said calmly, like it was really the only truth there was, but Crow somehow wasn't convinced.
