Chapter 36

Part I

          Yusei has lost the track of time and space. Sitting in the waiting room of the Neo Domino hospital has made him so lost and so sorrowful that his own emotions were suffocating him, pressuring him and leaving a feeling like his body is going to explode into tears... Even though he had no more tears to shed. The flashback of his recent moments in Hanako's room have made him devastated; he couldn't forget the hatred burning in her eyes and the way her body shivered around him... Only this time in fear.

"Yusei!" The warm sound of familiar voice suddenly seemed to Yusei like a salvation, because he had no idea if he was able to endure his emotions for a second longer, "Sorry I'm late... I had one more extra delivery to do!"

          "Crow", Yusei just muttered, after his head rose, following the sound of his friend's voice.

"What happened? Have you seen her?" Crow softened his eyes at the miserable sight of Yusei, thinking something must have gone wrong, because he was expecting to see him happy, with a wide smile on his face, but the reality welcomed him in another direction, "Is she awake?" He asked again, because Yusei just nodded his head without saying a word, "Don't scare me like that, man! What's going on?"

          "I think you should go inside and see for yourself", Yusei answered coldly, taking a deep breath to collect himself, before he spoke about it, "She threw me out of the room..."

"She did what?!" Crow's eyes widened in surprise, as his lips slightly parted, shocked by what he heard, whilst having a hard time to believe his ear.

          "You heard it right", Yusei leaned into the chair and looked away, crossing his hand, "She accused me for wanting to kill her and destroy the Future..."

"Maybe she has mistaken you for someone else", Crow assumed, trying to find a proper explanation for Hanako's behaviour, hoping that Yusei will somehow stop feeling a wreck.

          "You have to see her, Crow", Yusei whispered, opening his eyes, while gazing at the distance, like he started hallucinating and seeing Hanako's eyes before himself, "She wasn't faking it!" He shook his head, knowing something was not right, "I saw it in her eyes... and she knew my name!"

"That's strange, don't you think?"

          "Yes", Yusei murmured in response, moving his eyes back to Crow to give more seriousness to what he was about to say, "That's why I think you should go see her, so that we can investigate what happened to her and what exactly she remembers from the time before she became comatose!"

"Don't worry, Yusei!" Crow smiled, shooting a quick wink down at his friend, before he spoke again, "I'll go see her now!" He assured Yusei, wanting him to know that he will always be here for him, before he placed a hand on his left shoulder, trying to comfort him, but the way Yusei's eyes shimmered with sadness made him frown, "It hurts, doesn't it?" He tried to maintain the conversation, but his words just silenced Yusei even more than before, what made Crow understand how he was feeling, "It's OK, pal! Leave this to Crow the Bullet-sama!" He pointed a thumb at his own chest, raising his head up into the sky, "We'll bring our old Hanako back before you shoot me!"

          After Yusei silently nodded his head to Crow's words, he approached Hanako's room and knocked lightly, before opening up, seeing her sitting on the bed with the nurse and the doctor still examining her state. "Crow!" Hanako's cheerful voice suddenly echoed through the room and before he knew it, Crow had Hanako's arms wrapped tightly around his waist.
