Heights were something Luna had never been particularly afraid off. Sure it was a little freaky, but she didn't go out of her way to fear them. In fact, she found it oddly fascinating how something so normal could be so dangerous. Just like cars and how one wrong move could lead to a number of other consequences, not just for you but for the people around you. One small stumble off a cliff and you're falling to your death.
The few moments after Luna had stumbled off of her cliff seemed to take triple the time they would in reality. She was falling, and quickly, but rather than feeling scared it was almost peaceful. Sound stopped, time stopped, and she just fell. The lack off control she had meant she wasn't worrying about what to do or what to say. Instead she could only see another dark figure above her, and above that the terrified faces of the kook couple.
It would have been nice if there was some soft landing, a trampoline maybe, or a rope. Unfortunately she knew that was not the case. So, just before she hit the floor, she smiled. It was strange, but for those few moments it felt like she was flying, and that seemed completely freeing.
Until she was overtaken by pain, then cold, then darkness.

JJ had been happily entertaining his friends with jokes that no-one else was finding funny when interrupted by Kiara. She had barely spoken since the others left, so it was a sudden change.
"Did you guys hear that?"
"What?" He replied, freezing to listen to the outside. At first all there was was a loud thunder echoing through the sky, but then something quieter, a voice, a delicate feminine voice. His thoughts instantly rushed to Luna, the image of her twirling around in her dress still fresh in his mind. Was she okay? "Oh wait I hear that."
"Shit."
All three raced out of the humid vehicle towards the voice, right into the warm summer air. They followed the path they knew their friend had taken until they reached Sarah Cameron crouched over a figure on the floor. At first JJ was relieved, it wasn't Luna in trouble, but his stomach dropped when he realized that the figure on the floor was John B. His best friend.
"Sarah! What happened?" Pope called out.
"I don't know what to do. He needs help." She sobbed loudly, tears flowing fast down her cheeks. The boy was a little taken aback. None of them had ever seen her like this, but it was evident she cared a lot more about JB than they had suspected. "Topper shoved him."
Rage boiled within the blonde's bones. That son of a bitch deserved every single beating that would come his way after this. "Where the hell is he!"
