Luna could have sworn she heard gunshots. Maybe one? Maybe two? Maybe more, she wasn't sure and with the adrenaline buzzing through her mind as she it was hard to distinguish sound from sound, let alone separate it from her own thoughts. The group had kept running until they were in some old barn filled with broken furniture next to the port.

"We shouldn't have left." The girl was shaking her head rapidly whilst trying desperately to regain her breath. "We shouldn't have left them."

"Hey, woah, calm down." JJ, who looked just as on edge as she felt, moved towards her but she took a step back.

"No. No this isn't fair. We abandoned John B, I abandoned Sarah. What happened to pogues sticking together?" Perhaps she was overreacting. In fact she definitely thought she was, but she also didn't care. Everything was escalating so quickly and now there was a very high chance someone was hurt, one of her friends could be hurt. "You heard the gun, didn't you?"

JJ frowned at the girl in front of him, who looked the most distressed he had ever seen her. The tears brimming in her eyes were unmissable, but he knew she was trying to hold them back. He knew she hated crying. Each time he tried to take a step closer, she would move back and hold out her arms as if to halt him, all whilst trying to steady her breathing. The sound of the gun was loud and clear to all of them, but he had felt the violent jolt her hand out of his as it had echoed around them- it was clear she was panicked. "Yeah. Yeah I did."

"That could have come from anyone Lu." Kiara was biting her lip furiously. It sounded more as though she was trying to reassure herself than Luna. "It might not have had anything to do with-"

"But what if it did! What if one of our friends is bleeding out waiting for us to go help them, or... or something, I don't know!" She ran an exasperated hand through her rugged waves which she realized she hadn't even brushed for days. This was the last thing on her mind, however. "We should go back."

"Luna, I-" The tall blonde boy had began to talk once more, but this time he trailed off, and instead looked up to the sky.

"What? What is it?" Luna snapped, but she too then heard the quiet whirring of an engine. It grew louder and louder with each second until the whirring could be distinguished as that of a plane. To her horror, it was the plane. Ward's plane. The very airplane they had wanted to stop, needed to stop.

Pope scoffed from behind her. "There goes the gold."

But what did that mean for them? What did that mean for Sarah and John B? Where were they?  Were they safe? The sinking feeling came flooding back, and it felt so so heavy, like it would drown her if she let it.

"Shit!" The outburst came from Pope, but was accompanied by a loud bang from JJ who had violently kicked over a discarded chair. The brunette found herself wincing at both, but was most of all startled when Pope continued to curse, followed by a rampage of anger and frustration. "FUCK!"
