Morning took forever to arrive, or at least for Luna Andrews, who despite falling asleep with a smile on her face, ended up tossing and turning all night. Her dreams were plagued with haunting eyes and twisting shadows and unusual voices; everything you wouldn't want in a dream and more.

It was when her eyes opened, she began to panic. There wasn't necessarily anything wrong, nor was she in any sort of danger, but it was one of those mornings. She was filled with the same rushing sensation of fear, a sickly feeling overtaking her senses, making her vision blurry and head pound. It was too much for her too handle, she couldn't breathe. So she tried to sit up.

This action failed when a weight across her chest held her down. At any other time the girl would have been able to push it off of her body, but right now her shaking arms could barely hold herself up. Looking down, she came to the realization that the unusual weight was an arm, a realization that made her freak out even more when she noticed the arm wasn't hers. And then it moved.

The arm slunk away from her chest, and as Luna watched it in horror, her eyes landed on another body lying beside her, owner of the mystery arm. And yet, rather than freezing up, she felt oddly calmed. It was something that had never happened before, but she could feel her breath begin to slow and her mind begin to clear. She felt safe.

The mop of blonde hair pushed into the pillow moved revealing a face. JJ. His eyes were still closed, but he'd bought his hand up to his face to rub them. Suddenly any fear was gone, as if it were never even there, and she felt completely normal.

"Morning." The boy grumbled. It made her jump a little, still on edge and not expecting him to speak so soon, but then he opened his eyes and she was filled with a newfound sense of admiration. "What are you staring at."

"You." She blurted quietly, it was barely audible but his growing smirk indicated he definitely heard. "I mean, I-"

"Don't worry princess, I'd stare too." He rolled onto his back and stretched a little, wincing under the bright sun that streamed through the blinds.

"You cocky asshat!" She gasped, but with a smile nonetheless. Then he turned his head to properly take her in, and it looked as if he were about to say something when he halted and frowned.

"Are you okay?" His voice held genuine concern, and for a second she swore she could have melted. But it was just a question.

"Yeah I'm fine. Why?"

"You look..." He trailed off as he observed her nervous expression. "You look scared."

She averted her eyes and coughed awkwardly, running a hand through her bedhead hair in an attempt to flatten it. It bounced right back up. "Oh, yeah, uh...just a nightmare, I guess."

Then his inquiring eyes softened. "Like the other day? When you freaked-"

"Yes." Luna cut him off abruptly, not exactly wanting a reminder of the embarrassing morning. She still felt stupid, and she didn't want JJ to think wrong of her for it. "But, I don't know, it was different. I calmed down quicker than most times. So I'm fine."
