"Sure, yeah." Luna was in slight shock. She had spent so much time trying to get the girl to talk to her and now she was here of her own accord? "Are you okay?"
"Am I okay?" Sarah chuckled, still lingering near the door. "You're the one who just fell from the nest."
"Oh yeah." The brunette laughed lightly herself. She wasn't sure why her old friend was here, but she didn't want to do anything to mess it up. Whilst Kiara thought Luna didn't need and shouldn't want a friend like Sarah, she genuinely missed the girl's presence. "Stupid question."
The pogues were friendly and funny and made her feel happier and more alive than anyone ever before, but they lacked the familiarity of the Cameron daughter. Even though she got along with Kie as if they had been friends for years, and felt like she had known JJ forever, the reality was she hadn't and they weren't.
There was a silence, and Luna watched Sarah shift awkwardly in front of her. The girl still had her dress on too, and honestly looked gorgeous, but you could tell she was itching to get it off. "I wanted to...I had to say, uh...I didn't want..."
"It's okay. You don't have to say it. I know." The brunette could tell she was trying to apologize, the guilty eyes giving it away as soon as they met her own.
"No, Lu. I need to. You have only ever been nice to me...ever. And I just-" The girl took a deep breath before coming and sitting next to her friend on the bed, both of their naked feet dangling off of the longer side. "Sometimes, when people get too close I feel suffocated."
"Okay."
"And it was never the same with you because you lived so far away most of the time. We've been friends for so long but have never spent more than a weekend together."
Luna just nodded along, letting her friend speak at her own pace.
"And then suddenly you were here, and you didn't leave."
"I- I'm sorry S."
"No, oh god please don't say sorry. You didn't do anything wrong. You've always been such a good friend, and I guess I just felt overwhelmed and I didn't know how to handle that."
"Hey, it's okay." The brunette pulled Sarah into a hug as the girl's eyes began to water. Part of her wanted to be angry, she wanted not to forgive Sarah considering how much hurt she had felt after what was said, but she also knew her, and she knew that she meant what she was saying.
"No it's not okay. I'm sorry Lu, I'm so sorry."
The girl in green winced as Sarah leant into the hug, her body still in pain. The other teen noticed instantly and pulled back, wiping a tear from her eye. "Shit. Sorry." She chuckled.
