Tis day three readers!
I must say my excitement for writing this blog is still here.
That's good.
Hopefully the excitement of writing Random Blog of Life doesn't go away...
Onward to the quote!
I really like this quote. I find it inspiring to all writers who don't necessarily know anything about writing. You can write regardless if you know anything about writing. You just have to write.
Writing a story is like telling a person a story verbally. It's just on paper.
I feel like Edgar Rice Burroughs is telling us that he just told a story. He tried to tell it in the most entertaining way. Most importantly he wrote the story on paper without having knowledge about writing itself.
It definitely gets my mind going on writing a story.
To just write a story and not think about the aspect of writing. To not think about if the words come out right or not.
Just purely write.
Tell a story in hopes the story is fun for all those who's reading. Well not only fun, but interesting and entertaining.
If I write a story, I want people to enjoy it.
At the same time, I am writing the story because I feel like it needs to be written. I also want to write the story.
Now have I chosen to write a story or write a book of poems?
Kind of.
An idea for a story did come to me.
The problem is I am not sure it is good enough.
I don't think people will like it.
I know I shouldn't think this way.
I also know everyone is different.
Some will like the story and some won't enjoy it at all.
I'm not letting my thoughts totally stop me from writing this idea into a story.
It is just something that is stuck in my head.
The 'what ifs'.
Those 'what ifs' always get into your mind. You can't really help that they pop up into your mind.
What now?
Well it is an ongoing struggle for anyone like me who isn't confident in their work or themselves.
I want to change that.
I want to be confident in not only my work, but myself as well.
It is settled then.
I'm going with this idea I have for the story.
I'm going to write it for me and whoever wants to read it.
Also, I'm going to set a goal of when to finish it. A date to when the story shall be complete.
Which may sound crazy, but I noticed if I make a due date for it, I'll make sure to get it done.
I just need to look at a calendar and think of when to get it done by.
Taking into consideration I have a scene done, some ideas for the story and characters planned out with backgrounds.
I may look into finishing it in two months.
Though if I write every day and get more of the story done then I thought I would I may get it done earlier.
Two months?
I think that should do it.
I plan the due date to be...
August 1st!
It should work since its June 3rd and it is summer which means no school.
I mean I am taking a summer class, but it shouldn't take up all my time.
I will have free time to not only write the story, but to write this blog as well.
It's set then.
I have it written on the calendar.
I have reminders all over, to remind me to write. Even if it is just a little bit here and there.
Now.
On to the quote!
Quote:
Get it down. Take chances. It may be bad, but it's the only way you can do anything really good.
