Day Twenty Eight

The end of week four.
This week has been better.
Definitely better than last week.
Things seem to be looking up.
After I noticed what progress I made, I really want to continue making progress.
I'm happy with myself.
I'm hoping as time goes on, I can stay this way.
Stay happy.
Even when things get tough, I hope to stay happy.
If that makes any sense.
You know those people who smile all the time. The ones who continue to have a smile on their face no matter what.
Those types of people have contagious smiles.
I know they aren't secretly happy all the time.
We all get down sometimes, even the happiest of people.
It is nice to see a smile though in the worst of times.
Someone who can be positive and try to keep us thinking positive.
I will admit there are times where it is like 'forget thinking positive I'm tired of thinking positive' because it seems as if nothing good is coming out of what is happening.
It is necessary to think positive sometimes.
It is how we can get through a lot of situation.
Maybe not every situation, but most of them.
Moving on because I have no idea what to continue saying after that.
Sylvia Plath.
I heard of her because I knew she wrote the Bell Jar. I didn't know she wrote poems till I did a project on her. I also learned some facts about her life.
What I found interesting was what was written on her grave.
'Even amidst fierce flames, the golden lotus can be planted'
This comes from the story Monkey written by Wu Ch'Eng-En.
As I was researching, the original text reads: even in the midst of fierce flames the Golden Lotus may be planted.
Either way I really enjoy the words and found it very fitting for Sylvia Plath.
Anyways to me it is saying even in a horrible situation or literally flames taken over burning everything, something beautiful like a golden lotus can come out.
Even in the worst situation something good can come out of it, so even when everything seems to be going badly we should remember something good will come.
We just have to wait patiently.
Another way to look at it is there are bad people in this world, but amongst those bad people there is a good person.
I guess there isn't much to say other than that.
Oh wait there is!
There are two more days and the month is done.
Good?
Bad?
I don't know.
All I know is that I am moving forward which is good.
We need to move forward.
We can't get stuck in a moment or live in the past.
We must move on and make a future.
Even when the past was good, the future may be even better.
We learn from the mistakes to make it better.
Right?
It is something to think about isn't it?
I shall officially leave it there.
Here is the quote:
"I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn."
