Summary:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @SammyM2020! I hope you enjoy all the updates today, but especially this one since it is done soley in celebration of your birthday!!!!

~oooOooo~

Notes:

I know this chapter seems a little disjointed and that is how it is meant to be.

Namjoon's mind is fragmented and as he tries to work through it all, it takes a moment before his brain can make sense out of everything that has happened versus everything he can remember.

I hope that sentiment has come across here and it doesn't just sound like I forgot how to write.

:p

MORE Notes:

I didn't really want to get this in-depth with all of this stuff yet but...here we go.

DEFINITIONS!!!

· Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID): Previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), DID is a mental disorder characterized by the maintenance of at least two distinct and relatively enduring personality states. This is accompanied by memory gaps (amnesia) beyond what would be explained by ordinary forgetfulness. The personalities alternately show in a person's behavior; presentations, however, are variable. Other problems that often occur in people with DID include: Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, substance use disorders, self-harm, and anxiety.

· Dissociation: An experience where a person may feel disconnected from himself and/or his surroundings.

· Alter: (Alternate State of Consciousness) A person with DID has two or more different and distinct personalities, the person's usual or 'core' personality and what are known as alternate personalities, or "alters." The 'host' or 'core' personality may experience amnesia when an alter takes control over the person's behavior, or they may be co-conscious with the alter and retain partial control over the body or retain some memories. Each alter has a distinct name, behaviors, memories, voice, and way of viewing the world. In some cases, an alter may also have a different gender, ethnicity, or age. Some alters may be animals.

· 'Core' Personality: The original personality, born with the body. This is sometimes the main personality. Also referred to as 'host'.

· Fronting: Being out and in control of the body and able to interact with the world. Also known as hosting.

* Example: "Namjoon is out today."

· Switching: The change in who is 'out' or 'hosting'; where another alter comes out to control the body.

· Co-consciousness:

1) Also known as co-aware or co-con.

2) When two alters, or the host personality and an alter, share consciousness at the same time, as opposed to when someone becomes amnesiac and/or blacks out when someone else is fronting.
