Hi, everyone!

Just wanted to stop in and say, skip this chapter if you want (or don't) but I've had a few comments intrigue or concern me and so I wanted to address those here.

The first comment I had was someone thinking I didn't want my readers to ask questions anymore and that is absolutely not true.

I LOVE QUESTIONS!!!

Just not stuff like 'when will you be updating'. Otherwise it brings me great joy to discuss the story, the characters and really anything Kidnapped related! I feel like it lets us all connect.

Another question I had was about Kaelyn and Mathan and maybe I need to explain a little of their back story so people understand why they are both so precious to me as characters and why I will literally pop off if I see them used anywhere else without my permission (which only a handful of people have).

Kaelyn Grey has aged and deaged, gone through hell and came back stronger, lived and died, and been born again.

She was first created like...6 years ago (I think) for a Harry Potter RPG forum I was invited to join. The group lasted about two years and honestly those were the best two years of my life because I met some really amazing people, including someone I think of as my brother and actually traveled several hours to see on two separate occasions. He is the original owner of Mathan and has long ago given me permission to use him, but the version you see here is my own altered version, and he is fine with that as well.

Kaelyn Grey is not my name but everyone calls me that, even my friend turned brother, who I in turn call Mathan cause we all have like a million names between us.

In the RPG Mathan existed as well and through the course of time spent, he adopted Kaelyn as his little sister and what you see sprinkled through Kidnapped is the remnants of this really amazing relationship they once had as brother and sister.

In the beginning Mathan would have died for and even killed for Kaelyn because that's how strong his feelings for her as a protector were.

The conversations you read here are ones Mathan and Kaelyn have had a hundred other times in a hundred other places and it really is how the two were created in the world their creators raised them in.

(I have never cried so hard in my entire life as I did during those two years - the things we wrote and lives we played ommfg.)

Anyway.

Kaelyn Grey has always been a little flighty, I guess? A little unsure. And ALWAYS dead set on loving people who can not love her like she deserves. She thrives in toxic relationships and very rarely has a happy ending because she isn't Cinderella and honestly, I just love her. She is without a doubt my favorite OC ever.

She originally came in young, about 16, from a very wealthy family that cared little for her other than her use in appearances and being married off for financial gain so the way you see her here is pretty much true to how she started out.
