Jackson, Kentucky is a very small and still mostly backwards place from what I have gathered although I have not been there (around people) for years. With that said it is probably still as racist and as xenophobic as ever and sadly this is how people still act there. Even people in positions of power.

I myself do not share nor tolerate these terrible views, but for the sake of the story, I felt this trait needed to be portrayed.

The sheriff looked at the three boys before bursting into laughter.

Where had they been to concoct such an elaborate story?

Who in their right mind would believe such a tale?

"Kim Namjoon?" he asked in a sarcastic tone. "Any kin to that Kim Jong-un person?"

The man before him seemed really amused but all Namjoon could do was stare like he was in a continuation of the Hell they had just fled from, his brothers around him looking at this official in dismay.

"You have to help us!" Namjoon said, his eyes wide as desperation began to set in. "Our brothers....they're dying! We had to walk for help! That...those people! Ask them! They found us and--"
