"Bangtan Sonyeondan dead."

That was the next thing Namjoon remembered.

Article after article declaring their demise.

The looks of horror and resignation on his brothers' faces.

No one was coming for them.

No one would pay to retrieve only bodies.

"...Families to remember their sons as one."

A funeral.

They...their parents.

Family.

Friends.

Colleagues.

Politicians.

Strangers.

Fans.

ARMY.

Bangtan's brightest light.

All hurting.

All mourning a loss that wasn't as great as they imagined.

But why?

What proof did they have to declare the members of BTS dead?

As he watched from the back of his mind, Namjoon noted the size of the crowd. Where they all were.

Jamsil.

A place that held more seats than they had ever dreamt of filling.

A place where everyone they had ever loved or admired, where people they had never even known, were gathered.

Namjoon watched as their parents exited the cars they were in.

Watched as their friendscarried pictures of them in place of the coffins they wouldn't be in.

Jin's picture was carried in first, Ken from VIXX fighting to hold back his tears as he walked in memory of his fallen friend. Maybe his best friend.

Namjoon knew that his Jin-hyung and Ken had been almost inseparable in their time on the outside – in their previous life – and it warmed a part of him to know that in death, at least one person missed Seokjin from and not Jin from BTS.

Behind the picture – aportrait almost – of Jin, stood his parents. Generally private peoplethat Jin had worked to keep out of the spotlight, his parents looked older thanNamjoon remembered. Aged by the loss of their youngest son. Aged in ways Namjoon would never be able toimagine.
