Stay Low Key, Not Everyone Needs To Know Everything.
"What happened?"
Damon was looking around the room at me, Hayden and Alex with a questioning look. He was squinting and his voice didn't sound like his own but he was awake. That was all I could ask for right now.
I wanted to do nothing more than to run into my twin brothers arms. His broken ribs stopped me in my tracks.
He must have noticed my restraint because slowly he held his arms up wide. He flinched slightly but I could tell he was doing everything he could to hide the pain from me. Running over to him I wrapped arms around his neck making sure to stay well away from his ribs.
The two of always understood what the other one needed.
"Do you remember what happened?" Asked Alex carefully.
Damon shook his head no as I pulled away from his grasp. "No all I remember is seeing headlights heading my way and then I tried to stop and move my car out of the way." He frowned for a second as he tried to remember. "I remembered the breaks wouldn't work and Sky was... screaming."
"Why did you have that car?" This was the question that was playing on my mind from the start and something I needed him to answer. "It's one of mine and it's a car you hate. You've said it plenty of times before."
Damon shifted slightly holding onto his side. "I didn't pick it. Going to New York was a last minute plan. I asked one of the guys to load a car up on the plane so it was ready to go when I got there. Apparently the car was already on the plane so they just left it for me."
None of it has made sense. That car shouldn't have been anywhere near the plane never mind already on it. I checked over some of the car when I got home because some of them wouldn't have moved in a while I was gone. The McLaren P1 was one of them and I hadn't moved it anywhere else.
Zoe was still going through the cameras. Lucky for us they were still working.
The nurse made her way into the room and stated to look over Damon's stats. The woman wasn't much older than me and Damon and I noticed clearly how he was looking her up and down. Rolling my eyes I noticed that there wasn't anything that serious with my brother if he was still playing his old tricks.
Something clicked.
"I need to run some tests on Damon so if you wouldn't mind leaving for a bit." The nurse was polite as she spoke giving us a warm smile.
Hayden and Alex nodded and started to make there was towards the door.
"You can check me over all you want." Damon sent the nurse a wink and the woman blushed bright red.
This just proved my thought.
"I'm guessing you and Sky aren't a thing anymore."
My brother sent me a warning glare because I had clearly just cock blocked him. We both seen the disgusted look on the nurses face when the question of him having a girlfriend came out.
"No, we broke up a few months ago if you must know. I just visit her to make sure she's doing ok, she's been struggling."
His voice was low, not that it mattered the nurse would've still heard our conversation.
"Guessing it was her that called it off." There was a bitterness in my tone when I thought of Sky breaking my brothers heart.
