The Worst Battle Is Between What You Know And What You Feel.

Riker's POV

It was well past midnight and I was standing outside Anarchy having a smoke. Lyra would probably hang me by my balls if she knew I still had the odd smoke here and there but I felt like I deserved it.

Down in the bottom of the club there was a man that needed interrogated. Glancing down at my tattooed hand I could see the red marks clearly from the lights coming from the club. My own blood had crusted over and I thought back to the last comment the guy had said.

My temper had snapped and I wasn't even sure if he was still alive. If now still as I tried to calm myself down I felt my hand ball into a fist again.

"A bit late isn't it."

At the sound of the voice my hand automatically went to the gun at my waist. In a second I knew the voice wasn't a threat. Well not a threat I needed to worry about right now.

"What do you want Davis? Didn't really think Anarchy was your type of scene."

David came out of the darkness and under the blurring lights of the club. There was loads of drunken people about but they wouldn't even spare us a glance at this time. Most of them would be to out of it to remember their own names right now.

"We'll seeing as I can't get ahold of Lyra I thought you'd be my next best shot."

Scoffing I looked over his shoulder to see two more people. He came with back up, it was a smart move on his part I would give him that.

"If you're here about that whole thing you talked to her about on the phone the other day I'm not interested." Dropping the cigarette on the ground I stomped it out with my foot. "And judging how Lyra completely blew you off neither is she."

"Can we not talk somewhere more private." Davis looked over my shoulder the same way I did to him mere seconds ago. If I had to guess some of my own men were no standing in the background waiting for the next move.

Zoe had probably been watching us over the camera and told them.

"Anything you want to say you can say here and frankly I'm running out of patience so you may say it quick."

"I need to get ahold of your girlfriend."

"We both know if Lyra wants to go under the radar you aren't going to find her and you were stupid to think I'd help you."

Davis grinned and studied me. I was well past used to that look going out with Lyra but coming from him it ticked me off. He was trying something but I didn't know what.

"No your right I won't get ahold of her but I didn't actually come here for that. I need to talk to you we both know what Nisha is doing to your.... business shall we say. I wonder how long it would be before it starts to fall."

Narrowing my eyes at him I crossed my arms over my chest making myself look bigger. Was he really threatening me?

"I don't know what your talking about and you better watch your mouth if your going to start throwing shit around like that."

"Does Lyra know how your Empire is falling into her mothers hands?"

"What do you want?" I asked lowering my voice threateningly. Taking a step closer to him I squared right up to him and could hear the others on both sides move. They were ready to jump in at any moment.
