Everything Is A Choice.
Me and Damon returned back to my house after everything. We had bought Riker as much time as possible with what we had. There was a few close calls on the way as it wasn't all smooth sailing but this was me and Damon we were talking about.
The two of us would always pull through together.
"Can't believe he didn't tell me what was going on." Complained Damon as he closed the door that leaded from the garage to the kitchen.
"He probably knew you'd tell me because they were coming after me or lose your shit and do something crazy." I had been thinking about it carefully this whole time. The question wasn't only on Damon's mind. "And he probably didn't want me to know because I would've made my own plans and it would've interfered with what ever it was he was doing. Which is fair enough by the way because that's what would've happened."
"Do you have a mind reading machine or something I don't know about?" Asked my brother as he took off his hoody that was soaking wet and dumped it on my floor making me glare at him. "Because you always seem to know what people are doing or thinking without even talking to them."
Changing my glare to a grin I sent it my brothers way as I rolled my eyes. "I've just got good observation skills and have a brain. Maybe if you stopped living in the moment and thought ahead for a second you would to."
"Na Lyra that skill is all yours trust me no one can think like you." His voice was muffled by him taking off his t-shirt. I couldn't help but notice the fresh scars that still covered his body from the crash.
Maybe I was wrong on why Riker didn't tell Damon. Maybe Riker hadn't planned on Damon being with me at all and he just didn't tell him to keep him safe and away from this shit till he was ready.
In honesty I probably would've done it but he was my twin brother. Though the two of them were as close as brothers from we were seniors.
"I'm going to the shower here." Damon started to make his way towards the steps as he tried to dry a bit of his hair with his t-shirt.
For the first time in a while I had actually been left alone with my thoughts and I didn't know if that was a good thing or not. Throughout the last few weeks I've had all these pieces being put into place.
I've eyes on Nisha and I have information coming back to me on her moves. I knew about the shipment happening tonight but I left that one to Riker that's to do with his side and not mine. What I didn't know about was the fact that she was trying to set me up for Riker which meant I wasn't getting all the information I needed.
There was another piece I needed and I needed it quick if I wanted to keep this advantage over Nisha that I had. The problem was I needed a much bigger player and Matt and Skye weren't going to cut it. They were on the edge and could only offer me so much.
"I can see the brain is running behind those infamous eyes of yours from here, Princess."
My head snapped up to see Riker leaning against the doorway watching me carefully. He looked a bit scuffed up from what ever went down at the docks but otherwise looked unharmed. Which in turn made me let out a sigh of relief I didn't know I'd been holding for him.
"When is it not." Walking over to him I reached out for a hug which he gladly opened his arms too.
Riker always had a way of calming down my racing mind.
