There's Always A Wild Side To A Innocent Face
"Hey dad." Giving my dad a hug as I walked through the front doors, I noticed that everyone's eyes were on me. They always were at events like these. At twenty-one I had graduated and by twenty-two I was bringing my dads empire to new heights.
Something that most of them could only imagine that their children could do.
It was two days before Christmas and my dad had thrown his annual Christmas party. Of course that meant that all our family was here including my brothers.
Today would be all about meeting the business clients and catching up with them before the holidays. Tomorrow was Christmas Eve and it would be all about family along with Christmas Day.
Our mum wanted us to have a proper Christmas with all of us together. It was something that hasn't happened from me and Damon were kids.
"Hey sweetheart." Responded my dad as he kissed the top of my head. "Where's Riker?"
"He's running a bit late, he'll be here soon." Looking around I noticed that Jessica was already here with Kai and Evie. She with her new boyfriend Caleb.
Riker didn't seem to be a big fan of him and I knew it was something to do with his line of work. He just said he didn't trust him but I don't think it was as in he couldn't trust him to keep a secret. I think it was more along the lines of he didn't trust him around his sister.
Me on the other hand didn't mind him. He hadn't done nothing to show me that I couldn't get along with him. I was normally good at judging someone's character and I was willing to trust it with him even if Riker didn't.
"Is everyone else here?" I asked looking around the room seeing if I could spot my brothers.
"Yes." Responded my mom as she excused herself from talking to some man. She gave me a warm embrace as she looked me over. She was always looking me over to make sure I was ok. "You and Riker are the last, well the last ones I actually care about. Even Chase is here, he got time off work to come home for Christmas isn't that exciting?"
There was clear happiness on my moms face at the thought of having all of us under the same roof again. She deserves this after everything she has been through with us and Nisha. If it wasn't for Nisha our family would never have been torn apart. Then again me and Damon would never have been born.
"Is everyone staying here?" I asked slightly surprised I knew my brothers were coming home but I didn't actually expect them to stay under one roof. Of course the house was big enough for us all but they normally liked having their own space when they came home.
"Yes." Remarked my mom clapping her hands in excitement. There was a warm look in my dads eyes as he looked down at her and the love was clear. There was no way he was letting her go again that was for sure and it brought warmth to my heart. "I'm so excited to have my boys under one roof. You have to stay to Lyra, I want my whole family back together for this Christmas."
There was pleading in her eyes as she pouted at me and there was no way I was going to be able to say no to her.
"I'm guessing Emily and Ashton are staying too?"
"Of course" responded my mom like I was an idiot. She was probably one of the few people that could talk to me like that and just make me laugh. "Little Ash is my grand baby do you think I wouldn't let him stay in this house. Plus it will be great to have a child run about in these walls again."
My mom had cried over the fact that she had missed the first few years of Ashton's life. We had told her multiple times that it wasn't her fault and none of us could control it but she was still upset.
