Always Deliver More Than Expected

"Riker is so handsome."

"Mom!"

"What." Shrugged my mom innocently as she looked away from Riker who was changing the tire on her car.

"That used to be your step son." I grumbled out as I played with one of the screwdrivers from the tool box. Mom had come over to get some things sorted on her car. I wasn't at home from work yet at that point but she had taken it upon herself to wake up Riker.

Riker hates being woken up and I was pretty sure if she was anyone else other than my mom she would've had her head ripped off her shoulders. Mom knew that Riker had a sweet spot for her though because of me and she used every moment of it to her advantage.

"Will you get over that." Waved off my mom like I was telling her about the weather. Our gazes snapped over to Riker when there was a loud banging sound. "You know better than anyone that me and Xavier were never married it was all for show like everything else."

"The world doesn't know that though. The news thinks you got divorced because of me and Riker getting together." Rolling my eyes as I thought back at one of the many scandal's my family was involved in. That news didn't stick around for long though when the news of my mom and dad getting back together again broke. Now that was front page news worthy according to them.

"Now I'm happily back together with you father." There was a slight blush on her cheeks as she talked about my dad. It had been a long time from I had seen them so happy never mind together. They had went away on holiday together one day and sorted everything out. According to mom they had talked everything out and how they had handled the situations that had been dealt their ways.

"Have you ever thought about being single for even a moment." I grinned at my mom letting her know that I was only messing around. I knew that my dad was always going to be the one for my mom. Of course she had been married before after the two of them got divorced but they never lasted long. I knew it was because her and my dad had never ended on good terms and they never even talked it out.

I guess me and Damon were to blame for that. No, that was wrong Nisha was to blame for that. If she never shown up in there lives then they would never of had the problems they had.

"Hey, don't do that."

Snapping my gaze over to my mom I could see the concerned look on her face.

"Do what?"

"Blame yourself. You and Damon might not have came to be under normal circumstances but you do know I love you right?" Of course I knew that. It was me after all who had pushed her away all those years thinking that she didn't care about me and Damon. We always just thought she favourited our other brothers now it was clear what went down.

When I got older though I got the full story and found out that she wasn't actually my mom and suddenly I found out that everything made sense. She had pushed herself away to try and keep us safe. She had always cared about us but just didn't know how to deal with situation so she left and did the only thing she could do at that point. She made us hate her and when she tried to fix things when she thought things through me and Damon wanted nothing to do with her.

Now though I knew better than anyone what it was like to put into a situation and not know what to do and freak out. I could never blame her for that and I loved her for thinking she was doing the right thing.

"Of course I know you love me and Damon." I remarked giving her a pointed look. "You're our mom you have to love us even if we are pains in the asses."
