In The Mist Of Chaos There Is Always Opportunities
Riker's POV
There was a look of things that came with being in the life that I lived.
Pain, Power, Money, Greed, Loyalty, Betrayal and most of all Death.
Growing up my mum had always taught me that in our world there was always going to be someone bigger than you. She had told me that there was always going to be someone with more experience or control over the world but that didn't mean I was out of the game.
I just needed to be smarter, much smarter and if I couldn't be smarter than them I needed to become ruthless.
A lot of people think that it was my father that raised me to be who I am but he was only a voice in the background. It was my mother who had the most influence over my life. I was her youngest child and that meant she had more say over me. My sister was never born for this life due to us having different dads and she never took much interest in it unless it was to fuck with someone's life. My dad always had Ace under his wing because he was the oldest son.
That gave our mum the opportunity to spend more time with me.
She was a smart woman and cunning in every sense of the word. She knew what needed to be done, when it needed to be done and she always knew what my father was up to. He always told her what was going because he had said it was far more dangerous to leave her out of it than to tell her.
My mom though always knew what was going on even before my father had told her. A secret that had always been kept between the two of us. It was how I knew what my father was up to before he told me himself. Those sources became my sources and I knew why. My mom was once one of the most respected woman in the world. There was nothing that could've happen without her knowing.
When I was a kid I had once asked my dad if he was scared of my mom. He had said no, he was terrifed off her.
Looking at Lyra now with that grin on her face as she took out that camera I knew Lyra was the same for me. I could tell she was planning something, something that was going to bring us out on top. The success she could bring now and in life terrifed me and my dad was right.
She was aiming to bring us to the next level.
Lyra was going to make my dad King of this world.
Well that's what my dad thought but he didn't know Lyra the way I did. She had a respect for my dad that was unmatched that was something we could all see but there was one problem.
She didn't trust him and I could see it in those electric eyes of hers when she would talk about him. What my dad also didn't know was that Lyra was going to be the last one standing if she thought he was a threat.
If for a second Lyra thought he was threat to her, her family or her future my father wouldn't stand a chance against her. Right now he was a threat and I knew something that I was sure Lyra had worked out by now or knew all along when she busted him out of prison.
He was using her name.
My father was using her name but not in the way that most would. No he was using her name in a way that Lyra would never allow to go unpunished. He was calling her Nisha's daughter to men that had once the highest respect for Nisha. Lyra was the next generation of Nisha's family and in their eyes Lyra was fresh meat to morph into the shape they wanted.
They couldn't control Nisha which was why she was Queen. They couldn't beat her and her mind but in their eyes Lyra wasn't yet at that level.
Well so they thought anyway.
