Strong Woman Only Intimidate Weak Men.

Zoe calling out Archer's name over and over again was the only thing I could hear. The sound of my engine and my thoughts on the next corner were long gone from my mind.

It was blank I couldn't think of anything as the sound of the blast rang through my ears.

Then it hit me like a brick the second I looked down at the screen on my dashboard seeing Zoe's tear stained face. She was furiously typing away at her laptop clearly trying to reconnect to Archer's car. It only clicked then that she could probably see not only me but Archer and Matt as well.

Slamming on my breaks once more I turned my car around not giving a crap about the race that was now long gone from my mind. I needed to get to where Archer was.

"Zoe."

Calling out her name seemed to go right through her. She seemed to be to focused on what ever it was she was trying to do. I knew what it felt like to feel helpless in a situation you were no where near.

"Zoe!" My voice rang out through the car and it was enough to get Zoe to look at me. "What happened?"

There wasn't time though because when I round the corner that I had dodged through the alleyway I got my answer. The lorry that had been blocking the street was now still across all four lanes of the road. That's not what had my heart in my throat.

Archers car was under the gap between the wheels of the lorry where he had clearly slammed into the side of it. The front end of the car was on fire where the engine was, which was crushed under the lorry.

In the background I could hear the sound of sirens already starting to make there way.

They weren't going to be quick enough because the second I read what that lorry was carrying I knew I needed to get out of there.

It was an oil tanker.

Flight was starting to take over as I watched those flames climb higher and higher. Zoe caught my attention once more.

"Lyra, Archer is still in there." Her voice was harsh from between the crying and I was sure her voice was already raw.

"Shit."

Making a spilt second choice I drove closer to the the situation at hand. I made sure to keep my car far enough away from the flames that my own car wouldn't be effected but at the same time close enough for a quick get away.

Listening out once more I knew there was no way the fire brigade and cops would be here on time to control it.

Archer was running out of time and so was I.

Not letting myself think to deeply about the situation I climbed out of my car and bolted towards the burning car.

Out of all the ideas I've ever had this was probably the stupidest one I had ever done. There was a high chance I would be gone in seconds. There was no second escape from something like this.

Pulling the hood over my face I tried to protect everything I could from the flames. I also pulled the sleeves over my hands and for a second I was thankful there was one of Riker's hoody's making it far to big on me.

Reaching the car I turned my back towards the flames and started to pull on the car door.

Nothing it wouldn't open. For the first time panic started to raise even more so when I looked through the car window. Archer was there past out, his head against the head rest of the car. Blood was tricking down the side of his mouth and I was sure there was more than that.
