The Only Thing The Powerful Fear Is Being Powerless

"Will you slow down!" Yelled out Davis like him saying that would make it happen.

"Look, you got into my car so deal with the outcome." Looking over at him for a spilt second I could see he was pretty pale. "Though I would appreciate it if you didn't throw up all over my car."

"Keep your eyes on the road!"

Looking away from him I rolled my eyes as I weaved out of the way of a car that was heading straight for us with ease.

"Will you calm down."

We were currently heading for the docks as Riker and Zane went to the warehouse to help out Damon. They would be there any second while I on the other hand still had a ten minute drive ahead of me if everything went to plan. That was ten minutes I couldn't afford to lose seeing as Nisha already had a head start on me.

Seeing the red lights up ahead of me I knew I wouldn't be able to get through the cars that were already stopped there. So I did what I did best.

I took a short cut.

Slamming on my breaks and changing the gears I turned my steering wheel at the same time. Cutting down on of the small alleyways that covered New York City.

"Shit." I whispered under my breath when I seen some old woman putting her rubbish in the dumpster.

I didn't slow.

"Lyra!!" Shouted out Davis as I sounded my horn at the old woman. Her eyes widened at me like a deer caught in headlights before she quickly moved out of the way. It was probably the quickest the old woman had moved in years.

She dived behind the dumpster just as my car speeded past. Mouthing off what I was sure was a couple of swear words.

Before I had a chance to think about it anymore my car burst out through the alleyway into the next street. I turned my car so that it was heading in the right direction completely ignoring the cars that I had just cut off.

"Are you trying to get someone killed?"

"Look will you shut up." I groaned out in annoyance as I easily moved around the traffic. "You're actually worse than my twin brother and that's saying something."

Davis fell silent at that comment and sent a glare my way. "I am not as bad as Damon."

"Umm yea you are, keep screaming at me like that and you'll take his crown." I stated as a matter of fact.

"You do know I'm still here." Remarked Damon through the screen but he was to busy with his own shit to really pay any attention to what we were saying.

Suddenly the screen to my car went blank and I looked at it with a frown.

"What the hell." I asked as I started to play around with the buttons on the screen trying to get it to turn on again.

Then something clicked.

Looking down at my phone I seen that it too had no signal. Nisha must have blocked it somehow.

"Has your phone got any signal?" I asked Davis wanting to make sure it wasn't just mine.

He frowned at me at first but quickly pulled out his phone and looked even more confused than he did a few seconds ago.

"How-"

"Nisha, looks like she had brought her own toys along with her when she left. Hopefully Zoe is already on it but for now we're going into this blind."
