Without Strategy, Execution Is Aimless. Without Execution, Strategy is Useless.
"Are you mental!"
Maybe I was, maybe I wasn't in honesty I wasn't sure anymore.
Damon was sitting the passenger seat as I took one of the corners far to quick. From the corner of my eye I could see him holding on for dear life but I wasn't worried I knew what I was doing.
The car handled the corner well and it straightened up pretty quick after on the wet ground. We wouldn't have been in this situation in first place if it wasn't for my idiotic twin brother.
"Shut up this is your fault."
"No it's not. It's not my fault they couldn't take a joke." He complained as he looked behind him out the back mirror. The two cars were still trailing us and I would at least admit they are good drivers. By now I would've normally shaken off more than most.
It was raining and raining hard. It was hard to see through it but I wasn't complaining that also meant it was harder for them to see me.
"Yes it is." Slamming on my breaks I turned the car around facing the two cars head on. "You know when you were in the fucking hospital you were less trouble. I should've just got them to keep you locked up."
"Are you crazy? You miss these lovely brother sister bonding moments." My brother held on when he seen what I was about to do with a slight panic. "I hate when you play this game, you do know some day it's not going to end well."
He was on about the game of chicken I was set up to play of course though I never did what people thought. If I went for these two cars head on the chances are they would actually crash into me. They were determined to get us and judging from the way they were driving they are willing to take risks.
I knew when the odds were in my favour and this was not one of those times.
Reeving my engine I headed straight for them.
"Shit." Demon started to brace himself for the outcome but of course it would never came.
At the last second I spun the car and went down one of the narrow alleyways. The two cars drove right past it because they weren't expecting the move on my part. I grinned until I seen what was in front of me, a dead end.
"Lyra!" Shouted my brother making me slam on my breaks. The car stopped just millimetres from crashing into the wall.
I went to reverse out but one of the cars were blocking the exit now.
"Fuck, run."
Both me and my brother got out of the car and headed towards the fire escape ladders. In my gut I didn't want to leave the car behind but it wasn't like we had much choice. Plus it was Damon's car not mine that's probably why I kept running.
Damon gave me a boast up to reach and I quickly climbed with him not far behind.
Hearing the men shout behind us made me climb quicker than I ever thought I could. There was something wrong about this whole situation because they weren't properly chasing us anymore. They were slowing down and I don't think it was because we were going to quick.
Still climbing I found a open window but something wasn't right. It was currently raining and the wind was blowing inwards. I was sure the room would be getting soaked right now.
It was a trap.
"Lyra the window." Shouted my brother when he seen me climb right past it.
"No. It's a trap keep climbing."
