In Order To Be Irreplaceable One Always Be Different

"Thank you giving me some of your time for that interview Lyra." Holly then turned to face Jessica with a warm smile on her face. It was fake I knew it was but for the camera it looked just as well as a real one. "And you to Jessica it was great meeting you. We should have a chat together at some point over a coffee."

There it was kissing ass to Jessica because she was Riker older sister. She has been dying to find out information on him since he got out of prison. Well she wasn't the only reporter trying to get the fully story of what Riker was really about but she was the only one that pissed me off.

"Of course holly that would be lovely." Jessica's face told me that she meant what she was saying but he tone was completely different. Maybe it was because I knew her better than Jessica but I could sense a bit of sarcasm in there. She clearly didn't like this woman either and that couldn't make me anymore happier than I already was.

The camera man turned the camera off and everyone was seen to visibly relax now that the worlds eyes were off us. The fake smile and warm personality I had been holding for the last our hour disappeared quicker than you could blink.

I was so over this shit and I was definitely over Holly's shit.

"It is great to see you again Lyra, Emily has been telling me you and her have been getting close." She wanted information and she was trying to use family to get it.

At first I was worried that Emily would tell her cousin about everything that had happened that day. Holly though never mentioned anything she didn't say where we had been or what Emily had went through. Which told me Emily hadn't told her anything.

For a moment at the start I wanted to talk to her about it and let her know not to say anything but Hayden had spoken to me first. He told me to trust her because she had done nothing to tell me that I couldn't. Of course I didn't know Emily like Hayden did so I took his word on it and dropped it. As much as everything in me was telling me to deal with it.

For once I was happy that I went against my judgement and didn't talk to her. Emily isn't the type of person to really take threats well, not that I could ever truly threaten her. It was two different words we were from and how we dealt with problems.

Plus she had watched me and Damon grow up in a way. She knew what our family was like and how we dealt with things she probably knew what I wanted to say without actually talking to me.

"I would love to be able to talk to Riker too. Maybe you and your brother would be able to give me an interview so the world can find out more about the Kennedy family."

There it was the sentence that Holly had been dying to ask Jessica probably from the moment we got here. Holly had completely ignored the glare I was sending her way and I stood out of chair when one of the assistants tapped my shoulder to get my attention. The woman was speaking to me but I didn't hear a word as I listened to Jessica and Holly.

"My brother isn't really interested in interviews or anything like that anymore after his time away. Reporters are only interested in one thing when it comes to him and he has no interest in telling them anything the same way I'm not." Jessica stood up a sweet smile on her face but her tone was like venom. Riker was right Jessica was one of the few people that could make your blood run cold with just her voice. "So if you don't mind Holly it was lovely meeting you. We can still grab that coffee some day, just the two of us and we shall talk about the partnership between me and Lyra but that's it."

The assistant that had been talking to me had paused what she was saying to watch the exchange as well. Judging from not only Holly's face but everyone else around not many people talked to her like that. So not only had she been put in her place by me all those years ago she had not Jessica to deal with.
