Manny held Tobi's shoulder as he prayed before they began practice , knowing how much he was hurting. They both were. It was as if the girl was what made them capable of living. But with her hospitalised , almost dead made the boy crumble.

Jess groaned as Simon helped her out of his car. Simon made sure the girl felt alright before making his way to his car to grab the girls Med bag , locking the car before walking back to the girl who was coughing into her hands , blood splatters on them as she pulled back.

The girl had cancer , the first time she heard it she laughed thinking it was a joke. The time she realised it was real was when she was bent over Tobi's toilet , puking her lungs out before finally telling the boy what was wrong. The two were then in the boys bathroom , holding each other on the floor as they cried.

As the girl got worse , her appearance at the hospital increased , the boy usual taking her but when he couldn't Manny would , sometimes Jed would even step in. Tobi couldn't handle the girl being without him , usually cancelling the recording and ending up at the hospital anyway.

When the girl was hospitalised for the foreseeable future , Tobi cried. He turned up at the sidemen house , breaking down in his best friends arms , remembering how lost he felt when the doctor uttered the words , "2 months left". The boys were shocked to see Tobi so sad , they found him and josh in the lounge the two sobbing together.

It was hard as none of the other sidemen knew until the moment the girl worsened. They knew Tobi couldn't cope , the boy found his soulmate and she was being taken away from him.

"Here you go," Simon spoke softly as he handed the girl a wet wipe , helping her clean her face as her hands shook too much. "Thank you simon," the girl cracked a smile as she looked down. She felt so useless. She wanted to do things herself but it was evident she couldn't. She was to weak , so fragile.

Simon remembered when the girl started losing her hair and she turned up at one of the football games to cheer Tobi , Manny , jed and him on. The teammates were shocked at the girls appearance , the boys having to explain what was happening when she collapsed randomly during their football game. Tobi had ran off the pitch while the game was happening , calling an ambulance for the girl , holding her in his arms as he cried. He thought she was gone.

"I got you," Simon spoke as he helped the girl walk. He held her waist as she began to walk towards the field , a small stumble making the boy nervous. "I'm fine Simon , the doctor said I'm getting better" the small girl mumbled as she moved the beanie on her head. Simon sighed as he took his hands away from the girl.

She made her way into the pitch , her eyes glancing around trying to look for him. "Where is he Simon?" The blonde boy got in front of the girl shielding her from everyone as he began to lead the girl forward. "Follow me" he mumbled looking back before beginning to walk.

The teammates on the football team caught glance of the girl as she made her way slowly behind Simon , her hands gripping the back off the boys top as she stumbled slightly. Most were surprised to see her after Tobi broke down in Marfo's arms this morning about how bad the girl was.

"Hey tobes , Manny," Simon spoke as he gave them a smile , Tobi not glancing up as he hummed. "What you got behind your back?" Manny asked as he glanced at the boys hands behind his back. Simon glanced to Tobi as he looked up , the boys eyes puffy from where he was crying.

Simon moves to the side , helping Jess walk forward. Tobi's eyes widened as he saw the girl , tears instantly falling from his eyes as he let the girls name whisper out his mouth. "Jess?" The boy rushed to the girl , hugging her tightly in his arms as he cried.

Small sobs came from the boys mouth as he crumbled to the ground , the girl in his arms staying on the floor with him as they cried together. "They said I'm getting better , T. I'm getting better" the football team cheered as the two cried with each other.

Maybe things we're getting better.
