The boy sighed as he watched her laugh at something Simon said. Jide knew he shouldn't be jealous, Simon was dating Talia but that didn't stop the two boys from telling each other how beautiful the girl was.

The three had been friends since school, Jess being someone they'd protect and her being a support for the two.

She and Simon had a thing back in school but split after realising they weren't for each other, then he found Talia and Jess was on her own. That was when the three distanced from each other before realising they were being petty and got closer again.

Then the boys started YouTube. And Jess started editing for them, then helped with sidemen clothing, then moved to work with Tobi and Josh's own clothing line. And slowly she was drifting away from JJ.

And he thought because of what he could buy her, he'd get that relationship he wanted back with her.

"Jess, I got you something, come here!" Jide called as he reached into his pocket, pulling out what looked like a ring box. The girl skipped over to the boy, shaking her head at the present he held. "You don't need to get me stuff JJ."

She held a soft tone while talking to the boy, her eyes staring into his as he revealed a necklace, biting his lip while looking at her reaction. Jess took the necklace out of the box, her eyes twinkling against the shine of it. It held a small butterfly charm on it, it being a white crystal to which Jide spoke.

"It's white gold." Jess looked up to the boy who gave a nervous smile. She shook her head, putting the necklace back in the box, pushing it to his chest. "I-I can't accept that! It probably cost you hundreds."

Jide seemed to deflate at the words making the girl frown. "Jide.. it's not that I don't want it, it's gorgeous and I would love to have it but it costs so much." "It was only a grand!" The boy spoke making the girls eyes widen.

"Exactly! To you that might not be much money but to me, that's way too much for a necklace." The girl shook her head as she looked to the box before back to the boys face, making eye contact with him, "I can't take that from you."

Jide groaned as he just shook his head, taking the girl hand and placing the necklace and it's box back into her hand. "Well I'm not leaving with it." "You live here, Jide."

The boy groaned, shaking his head as the girl began to smirk, "That's not the point-" looking to her smirk, Jide chuckling slightly, "I bought it because it reminded me of you and I wanted you to have it, so please just have it. Consider it an early Birthday present."

"My birthday is in October, Jiddle." "Yeh and?" "It's January."

The boy groaned once again, bowing his head down as the girl giggled. "Late Christmas present then."

Jess just sighed, opening the box, taking the necklace out again, holding it out to the boy. "Can you put it on me, please?" She whispered, causing Jide to smile giddily, nodding.

Simon shook his head at the exchange, chuckling to himself. He knew what Jide was doing, but Simon knew the girl wouldn't get with him just because he bought her stuff. Or gave her money. He knew the girl liked the little things. The late night car rides, the hand holding. The gaming together. That's how he got her.

But they were too different from each other. Yes, they liked the same things, but their interests were much different.

"Thank you, Jiddle." The girl murmured as she stood away from the boy, holding the butterfly in her hand as she smiled up to him.

This happened a few more times, JJ buying the girl things which were too expensive and the girl denying his requests of having them until she felt guilty about refusing.

But then the boy tried to make his move.

Jess had shown up at the sidemen house as they were shooting a video and had asked for her to help film. She agreed, never wanting to let down the boys and it was the end of the shoot when Jide decided to make his move.

He took a few breaths before calling the girl over. Simon noticing what was going on, mumbling what was happening to the boys who stayed outside but looked through the window as Jide sat the girl down, standing in front of her.

"Umm.. I was- I wanted to tell you, I've been thinking about us," the boy started, Jess grabbing her necklace out of habit. "And, I think I'm starting to have feelings for you."

Jess gulped as she looked up to make eye contact with the boy, her lips opening then closing before opening again, "Jide..." she whispered out not knowing what to say.

JJ looked down to the girl, a frown on his face at the reply, not allowing the girl to speak again. "You seriously going to reject me? After everything I bought you? You're going to treat me like this?!"

The boys stood in shock as the man shouted to the girl who just sat there, unaffected. Simon smirked, she never took shit from any of the boys and he learned that but Jide was going to learn the hard way. "Just a warning boys, there's going to be a lot of yelling." The boys turned back to Simon who just shrugged, nodding for them to watch.

Jess looked up to the boy as she took the necklace of before the ring he bought her, and the bracelet, grabbing the boys hand and putting them in it.

"You are taking the fucking piss, Jide. I like you! I like you a fucking lot. But thinking you can date me by buying me shit is dumb. We've known each other for a very long time. I've dated Simon and you knew what I was like with him!"

The boys looked back to Simon again who just shrugged, they never told them about their past.

"I like when you'd do stupid shit to make me laugh and if you think money can buy a relationship with me, you are so wrong." The girl grabbed her phone, noticing the boys in the window making her glare at them before moving to make her way out of the house, "call me when you get over how rich you are and maybe I'll consider us dating."
