A/N: This is still part of the Laing miniseries in this. It's just a while after you and Robert get back together.

We sat at the table, Robert next to me and The Architect to his left. He was talking to us about the building, and what he planned to do with everything.

"So what do you think of the place?" He asks before taking another bite of his food.

Robert was never a person of conflict, but recently this building has brought it out of him... out of all of us, which he tried hard to control.

"Fine, peaceful enough." He looked to me and he could clearly see the fire in my eyes. After all the things that has happened to us.

"And what about you y/n? I heard from Steele, that dentist man on your floor that you were... liking the place."

I immediately shuddered at his name. That was him, that was the man that night... no don't remember and don't cry. I let out a shaky breath, I didn't know how to answer.

"Actually y/n has been rather uncomfortable in her apartment as of late, so she has been partially living with me," he took my hand under the table and gave me a reassuring look. Royal looked at us both, he had that look in his eye. Like he was going to dig into me deeper.

"Oh I am sorry, tell me what the problem was with your flat?"

I could feel his harmful glare stinging on my cheek as I kept my head down. Robert answered for me again.

"She needed some help with things, and we have known each other for a long time. I was willing to help and old friend-"

"An old lover?" Royal quickly chimed, smirking in our direction...

"You could say that." Robert didn't say anymore, and we went back to eating for a while, that allowed Royal to find another, direction to mentally attack me.

"You are rather quiet y/n," Royal remarked, "Steele told me you were very open when you saw him."

I shuddered again at the mention of his name, moving in my seat, and holding Robert's hand tighter.

"I'm sorry Royal, but I think that topic is inappropriate for such an occasion... we have come to ask for something, not for an interrogation. You probably already know what happened, so I see no point in asking the questions you are." Robert growled. I smiled just a little at Robert's protectiveness over me. I lifted my head to see Royal's reaction. He looked a bit dumbfounded but wasn't really shocked at Robert's reaction.

"What do you want then?"

"I want protect from y/n. I want you to ensure that no one can possibly touch her," he looked back at me and kissed my temple. He leaned closer to Royal and spoke quietly to him, "I don't care what you do, I want her safe, from any of those dirty scumbags."

Royal mulled over what Robert had said, constantly switching his gaze between the two of us, "what do you offer me in return?"

"I'm sorry Mr royal but I don't think this is something that goes two ways." Robert answered sternly.

"Well it does, so you are going to do something for me in return or I will not help your girl."

Robert looked at me with a sorrowful eye, then turned back to Royal, "what do you want me to do?"

"Keep an eye on Wilder for me... he seems troublesome."

I looked at Robert, I could tell that he was agreeing to it.

"Robert?" I said, I rubbed his hand against mine and ran my eyes up and down his face trying to read him.

"Fine. I'll do what you want. But you must ensure y/n is safe."

"Cross my heart... hope to die," Royal says smugly, placing a hand over his heart.

"You should bloody well hope," Robert snarled again, "come darling... let's go," we left royals grand apartment and headed back down, feeling a little bit safer than I once was.

A/N: This one was probably the hardest one to do. I knew where I wanted to go with the story, but I think the ending was a little tricky. I felt as if I kept repeating myself, but I hope that you did enjoy it. I think there are a few more Laing chapters, I can't remember we got like over 60 more to do. ❤
