I liked this picture the best so this is the reception area.

"It is now time for the speeches!" Joey, Tom's best friend and best man exclaims while he taps a flute with a knife. He sits down again, and the guests settle down back in their chairs. Some people walking to the other side of the tables after greeting family and friends.

Your father spoke first, going by the traditions, "well thank you all for coming. I hope you're enjoying yourselves and will enjoy yourselves as the night goes on. I'm so happy that my y/n has found her true love with you Thomas. Y/n always used to talk about wanting to be a princess when she got married and now I know that you will feel like a queen in Tom's arms," you look at your husband and blush as he smiles at you, kissing your cheek lovingly. "I'm glad to call you my son-in-law and I hope you two live happily together. To the newlyweds!"

Everyone lifts their glasses and take a small swig. Tom's mum decided to speak next. It wasn't tradition, but you would rather be unique instead of boring. You leaned into Tom, who hugged you close to him.

"Like Mr l/n said, thank you for coming and celebrating a beautiful new marriage. I know it's not traditional for the groom's family to make speeches however, I wanted to say how thrilled I was when I met you y/n. I knew that you and my Tommie would be the perfect couple, and I'm so happy that you two are now married. I can't wait until you give us grandchildren," everyone laughs at the comment and Tom rolls his eyes a bit, making you last a little more. "Anyway my dears congratulations." She raises her glass and smiles warmly before sitting back down.

The guests clap and Joey stands up for his speech. Tom had told you that, unlike tradition, Joey and he managed to write their speeches early on which made you very surprised and very happy.

"Right then my turn." The guests already starts to laugh. Tom looks down at your slumped body and raises his eyebrows in anxious anticipation. You give him a kiss to settle his nerves. "Before we get into the good stuff, I have to do the anecdotes from absent guests so," he pulls out small pieces of paper he printed the notes on. "r/f/n sends their congratulations and can't wait to see you after the honeymoon... the Russo brothers said that even though she's your wife, you can't tell her your marvel secrets Tom." Everyone laughs and you give a small, disappointed sigh which only Tom hears. "There are some here that I'll let you read in private seeing as there are children, but this one is the best from Graham Norton: y/n can you please tell me if the saying 'gentleman in the streets God in the sheets' is true. I'm asking for a friend." There are some gasps and shocked laughs. You even cover your mouth in surprise. You notice how Tom blushes in embarrassment which you take away with another kiss.

"But now onto the good stuff. Thomas and I met when we were very young, so I have A LOT of great stories I could use. Luckily for Tom I'm not going to use the most embarrassing ones. Just the ones after he met y/n. So it was the night after Tom met this girl he called 'an angel in plain sight', from the first moment he stepped in my door he kept going on, and on, and on, and on about y/n. I don't think he even noticed when I went out the room for my iPod and headphones." The audience laughed lightly at the comment.

You looked at Tom who shrugged and whispered, "what can I say? There weren't enough words in the world."

Joey continues, "when Tom introduced me to y/n I was pleased that he found someone who wouldn't find me more attractive. She couldn't stop looking at Tom! But I am happy they are together; you'll make a man out of this man child yet y/n! Finally, after hearing about the wedding from news articles, Tom's old rugby coach thought it might be good to tell you that they found him useless in most positions but wishing you all the best for tonight. Thank you!" Joey gives a comical bow as the audience laugh even more in shock at the joke.

You saw Tom go completely red and tried to hang his head as close as he could to your neck to hide. You laughed along with the guests, "It's okay Tommie, I've tested the goods." Tom chuckles while you softly stroke his hair, going down to his cheek.

After b/f/n's speech it was time for Tom's and your speech. Tom stood up, forcing you to sit up. Tom didn't let go of your hand as he spoke, "thank you Joey, b/f/n, mum and f/n for those speeches. Thank you, Mr, and Mrs l/n, for welcoming me into your family, and for allowing me to marry your beautiful, perfect daughter. Seeing as we did our own vows at the ceremony, I don't think it would be wise to talk even more about how I love y/n. Although I want to badly. All I want to say is I love you y/n so much, you are beautiful, and I can't wait to take our journey through life together in marriage. Like the others said, thank you for coming, and y/n and I greatly appreciate your gifts. Thank you, mum, dad, Emma, Sarah for teaching me to be the man I am meant to be, for supporting me and for just being my family even in tougher times." Tom smiles at his family sitting to his right. His mum blows him a kiss and his father and sisters smile warmly. "And finally, a toast." Everyone raises their glasses, "to love, to happiness, and my gorgeous wife y/n." Everyone clinks their flutes, wine, and whiskey glasses together and drinking as Tom pulls you up and plants a kiss on your lips.

You hug him and ask him to stay with you while you say a final few things, "there isn't much for me to say now, but I'll try my best. Thank you, mum, and dad, for everything you've done for me, I love you both so much and it feels weird to finally having the life you dreamed for me. Thank you, Diana, James, Emma, and Sarah, for welcoming me to your family with open arms. Thankyou Joey for those... lovely anecdotes." Some people chuckle lightly as they remember his speech, "Thank you b/f/n for helping me and Tom plan this and be the best friend I could ever ask for. Thomas, thank you for being there and being so perfect. I can't believe I get to call such an amazing man my husband," Tom leans down and pecks your lips before you finish, "and thank you all for coming to be with us while we make this an excellent memory. Have a lovely night."

All the gests clap and you and Tom share another kiss and hug before b/f/n stands, "now for the first dance."

A/N: This was really awkward to write because I have to pretend that I'm in that situation. The one thing I hate is lovey dovey wedding things it makes me cringe HARD. So I had trouble trying to come up with these without wanting to rip out my hair. Hehe. I even researched the order of speeches and reception order what they are supposed to say. I wanted to curl up into a ball of cringe. I know there isn't many personal stories in this, but that's for obvious reasons. I hope you liked it. Share your thoughts. ❤
