You were and avenger and your current mission was to ensure that the God of Mischief, Loki, stayed in the building. Basically you were his guard until they decided what to do with him. For a while Loki stayed in a cell, you were to spend the day with him and keep him company. He didn't really talk to you for a month though he did say small things like 'good morning' and 'evening.'
After about 3 months of him being stuck in the cell, you convinced the other avengers to let him out of the cage. You still accompanied him around the place which annoyed Loki a lot, but after a while he got comfortable with you being around him.
He talked to you a lot, opening up about his feelings and why he did what he did. It sounds bad but you did feel bad for him, all villains are heroes in their own minds. Loki just wanted to prove himself because he was lied to his entire life.
Loki loved you, you knew that. Why else would he tell you about his past? Why would he trust you to accept his reasoning if he didn't feel some sort of way about you?
--------
You were reading on your bed, your favourite book. It was quite late so you didn't think anyone would be up. You were very surprised when you heard a knock on the door, and Loki peered through.
"Hey y/n could I show you something?" He asked quite timidly. You looked up at him and saw he had been crying. You nodded and got up off the bed, leaving your book. You walked with him out to the large balcony.
"You okay Loki?" You asked softly. You watched as he laid on the floor, not saying anything just looking up at the beautiful night sky. He patted the ground next to him, so you joined him watching the night.
"It's beautiful, isn't it." He says, you could feel his hand reach for yours and you interlock your fingers. Neither of you say anything but you smile at him letting him understand that you like him.
"I think it's sad," you reply. He turns his head and tries to analyse your face for a reason, "space has been stripped of its beauty. It looks pretty. But because of selfish curiosity, humanity didn't stop to admire it, they researched and destroyed it's untouched purity. You would think for such a work of art it wouldn't be tainted... People would create stories about what it is really made of. Then the second someone decides they can be better; they can touch a star and tell their fellow human they can live within such random perfection. No one just accepts it's beauty... and no on let's it be. It has to be analysed, tested, and documented. After that it's pointless, it holds no magic for the adult who looked up when they were young... and saw a million possibilities. It's just scrap metal and dust from billions of years ago."
Loki listened with interest, he stayed silent when you'd finished. You watched the sky and Loki watched you. "Your reason is understandable. Travelling through the 9 realms has shown me such perfection. But your puny race has left its mark and we all pay the price. You find something new and believe you are above it. You have no idea what is out there. The danger of that selfish curiosity."
You look at Loki and see more tears fall. You turned on your side and rested your head on his upper arm. "What is Asgard like?"
"It is magnificent." you closed your eyes as he described his kingdom. "You can see every colour, and that is just the rainbow bridge connecting the Bifrost to the rest of the kingdom. Gold covers every twist and turn, and it is polished to reflect the sun. The castle has the most gold, almost all of it being made of the ore. It's hallways have memories from thousands of years ago and holds a million truths."
You opened your eyes and saw Loki watching the stars again. You could tell he missed his home so you had an idea, "if I could promise your freedom, would you take me there?"
Loki's eyes found yours, he cupped your cheek with his free hand and spoke whole-heartedly, "I would show the all the 9 realms for a kiss."
You did as he said and kiss Loki. His lips were cold on yours, they were skilled, but you knew hardly touched and you both took your time to savour the kiss. You pulled away but Loki pulled you back up for another quick kiss.
"Thank you," he whispers. You lay your head back on Loki's chest and fall asleep watching the stars.
A/N: My computer is going nuts because it keeps saying my work isn't saving even though it is hahaha. And the resolve conflict keeps happening which is sooooo annoying! 🤣🤣 I'm quite neutral about this story. I don't love it but I don't hate it. Share your thoughts.❤
