"She'll love you, trust me."
We were on the way to Tom's mum's house for dinner, his sisters are going to be there, and it's the first time we are meeting, "I got that Tom, but I'm still nervous... I know what women are like, for god's sake I am a woman, I know how we read people, and I know the first thing your family are going to do is take one look at me and judge me."
"Don't be silly darling," he chuckled, "I know my family, and my mother and sisters aren't going to judge you... immediately anyway."
I roll my eyes and he laughs, "see."
"It'll be fine. I'm there to protect you."
We sit in silence for a few minutes as I tap my feet on the car mat and fiddle with my hands. Soon enough Tom turns in and we've made it to his mum's place.
Tom gets out the car, beforehand telling me to wait, and opens the door for me.
"Thank you darling," he kisses my cheek.
"You'll be fine," he whispers in my ear.
"Thomas, I'm so glad you made it," Tom's mum gives him a hug and kisses his cheek, "and this must be y/n, yes I've heard a lot about you. Tom never seems to stop talking about you."
"Good things?"
"Always my dear," she opened up her arms and hugged me warmly, "come in. Tom your sisters are here already."
Tom wraps his arm around me and smiles, "see she loves you."
I roll my eyes, "alright, I guess-"
"What. Oh say it please, say it." He almost jumps up and down in excitement.
"You were right." I sigh, with a small grin. That man.
"Ohhh thank you," he squeezed me tightly and kissed me once more before we saw his sisters: Sarah and Emma.
----time skip----
"Yep he used to play dress up and write his own plays, then perform them to us with his friends before he went back to school." Diana said.
We had sat down to dinner and Diana (Tom's mum) and his sisters were telling me all sorts of cute stories about baby Hiddles.
"Oh now that is adorable," I giggled looking to my side where Tom had a blush creeping on his face.
"We have pictures don't we mum?" Emma followed.
Tom tried to butt in before his mum said anything, but to no avail, "Oh yes I think there's some in the study. I'll go get them once we're finished." She grins uncontrollably as I laugh in Tom's direction.
"Please mum you know I love you dearly, but please can we not look at those photos." Tom pleads, making me 'aww' at him and kiss him warmly. All of us laughing.
"Well if you don't want to look Thomas you don't have to, but I think y/n here seems more than thrilled to look at your baby photos. Aren't you love?" Diana looks over to me smiling with a hopeful eye.
"Sorry Tom, but the fact that you are this adorable now makes me wonder how cute you were as a baby. And I don't want to imagine it if Diana has evidence of your cuteness." I chuckle, staring at his baby blues with my puppy dog eyes.
"Fiiiine," Tom groaned. He leant down to kiss my cheek smiling into it, "you are so getting it when we get home," he mumbled.
"Eww Tom I heard that, save it for when you're not at the table," Sarah retorted.
We finished our meals talking the entire time about each other's personal lives, however the conversations mainly gravitated towards me. At the beginning of this evening I would say that they did this to sike me out, but now... I feel like I'm at home.
Diana went to get the pictures as all four of us cleaned up dinner. The rest of the night was spent laughing at old photos of the three of them and all their hilarious adventures. It was an amazing night, better than I ever imagined.
"So darling, how did you find my family?" Tom asked as we drove back to our shared apartment.
"If I tell you, then you'll get that smug look on your face and get me to say those extremely annoying words," I said.
Tom rested his hand on my knee and flickered his eyes over to me when he could, "and what words are they my dear?" He grinned.
"You were right Thomas. I think your family really liked me and I had nothing to worry about after all." I sighed and I let him have his moment of joy.
"Thank you, y/n. I don't like to tell you that I told you so, but I told you so darling. And they more than liked you, they loved you. My mum thinks that you are 'a good fit for me,' that I have made a good choice... and I definitely agree with her."
I smiled to myself as we pulled back up to the flat, "well I'm glad I'm a good choice," I titled his head towards me once we stopped and kissed him passionately.
"Mmm, you're still getting it though."
I giggled like a little girl, "I can't wait."
A/N: I really enjoyed writing this one so much, I know it may have been very dialog orientated, but this was one of the stories I could play out a lot easier in my head and go through the dialog quickly without going through the description of the surroundings. I hope you liked it. Share your thoughts.❤
