You were living with Bill and his parents before uni and you'd been dating for about 2 years. Joyce, his mum, was in France and Jeremy, his dad, was at work, meaning you and Bill were left home alone.

There was a lot of things you had in common, you liked the same sports, same writers, an even the same types of music. But the one thing you both loved to do together was cook.

Your love for cooking came recently, as you had both spent 6 months on a project in Africa. You lived along with the people in a small town, making meals and cleaning along with the other women and children. You found it extremely fun and enlightening to see how to make good food without many ingredients. You even shared some of yours and Bill's favourite foods, like stew.

"So your mum asked us if there was anything we wanted for dinner and I thought we could make it." You said, sitting down next to him on the sofa and picking up the tea that you had briefly set down.

He moved your legs over his thighs and started rubbing them gently, "what do you suggest we make?"

"I have a few ideas," you smiled, you sipped on your tea before making your suggestions.

"Maybe lasagne, or a pie. We can go to the corner shop I'm sure they have puff pastry."

"Mmm I think pie sounds good, what type?"

"Chicken pot pie is my specialty," you said setting down your tea again and kissing Bill softly on the cheek, "let's go get the ingredients."

You checked to ensure you knew what you needed before going out. You bought the stuff you needed and came back in full chef mode. Bill set the shopping down and took the apron that was hanging on its hook.

"Tis I! Chef Hazledine!" He spun, not so gracefully, towards you and grabbed your waist forcing you to join him. You laughed loudly and held on tightly to his shoulders.

"Bill! AHH! STOP!" You laughed and squealed as he slowed down. Once he had stopped, he dipped you down and kissed you.

You finished your giggling fit and start preparing your ingredients.

"So chef y/n. What do we do first?" Bill asks wrapping his arms around you, rocking you side to side.

"Wash our hands, preheat the oven and then chop the chicken and veg. I'll do the chicken and you can chop the potato and onion. We can use the baby carrots from the freezer. Oh and can you get the peas out of the freezer too." You said taking out two knives and a plate for the chicken.

You soon cut the food up and Bill starts cooking the chicken adding salt and pepper while you weigh out the stock, cream, and flour, for the sauce.

"Okay I think the Chicken is cooked, what now?"

"Next you need to take out the chicken for a moment while you cook the veggies," you smile as you give him the different vegetables.

He looks at you with a fake frown which makes you laugh again. "Here, the pie crust still needs to be cut. Why don't you do that while I sort out the filling."

"Leaving it to the professional," he smiles, getting the crust ready.

You cooked the vegies, adding the liquids and adding the chicken back in. You looked over to Bill who was watching you intently, drinking his tea.

"Well then chef Hazeldine, I would totally fire you for just standing there," you smirk over your shoulder. He walks closer to you and wraps his arms back around you, "much better chef." You both laugh a little and soon after the food was ready for the oven.

You put the filling in the cooking bowl before putting the crust on top and making small slices in the pastry so the steam can escape. You then left it in the oven for half an hour.

While it was cooking you and Bill caught up on your favourite show and Joyce came back, followed by Jeremy about 10 minutes later.

"Something smells good," Joyce hummed in delight.

"We made chicken pot pie for dinner; I hope you like it." You said with a smile.

"I definitely think we all will, thank you guys." She returned a smile before going upstairs.

----time skip----

"That was gorgeous y/n, you certainly did a good job." Jeremy said taking one last bite of his food.

"Thank you," you replied quickly.

"I helped too dad." Bill quickly remarked, like a 5-year-old.

"I'm sure you did Bill," Jeremy joked.

"He did though. He was a great sous chef," you giggled, placing a hand on his thigh, and squeezing it gently. You kissed his cheek and got up to clear the table.

"I'll help you y/n," Bill said picking up the cutlery.

"Thank you."

A/N: I didn't know how to end this chapter so I'm sorry if it came to an abrupt end. If you want to know how to actually make the pie, bc it is really good, here's the recipe. when I made it I just changed some of the ingredients, but it still tasted great. ❤ https://tasty.co/recipe?0=%2Fone-skillet-chicken-pot-pie&slug=one-skillet-chicken-pot-pie&canonicalUrl=https%3A%2F%2Ftasty.co
