Seonghwa

I leave the flower shop and sigh. I grab a taxi and tell the driver to go to Seoul National University Hospital. With another sigh I press my head against the window and close my eyes.

The car stops after five minutes. I open my eyes. I pay for the ride before getting out of the car. I walk inside the hospital greeting some of the nurses that walk past me. I head for my brother's room.

I step inside to see the older lying in bed in the same position as always. I place the flower bouquet down onto the bedside table and then sit down on a chair next to the hospital bed.

I take a hold of my Hyung's hand. "How have you been..? I know it's been a while since I last visited.. I'm sorry... I've been busy with work.." I explain quietly. sigh gently. "I met a few new friends... Remember Jongho and Wooyoung.. I've told you about them before right..? I met their friends at a restaurant by accident.." I tell and smile gently. "They're all really nice."

I sit in silence for some time. "Hyung... It's been... Over nine years..? Please wake up... I miss you. Mom misses you even more.." I whisper squeezing his hand gently. I feel the tears in my eyes. "It should've been me in your place.. I should be the one lying there..." I whimper in guilt.

No one else blames me for what happened but me. It's not fair that I get to live happily while my Hyung is in a coma for almost a whole decade.

I hear the door open. "Seonghwa." I hear a woman's voice say. I raise my head and see my mother. "Hi.." I say quietly and stand up. I go hug the older woman. "How are you doing?" she asks me. I sigh quietly. "I'm alright.." I hum.

I make mom sit on the chair. "What about you? How are you holding up?" I ask. My mother smiles. "I'm good. Of course, I worry for you when I don't hear from you for months at a time..." She says. I smile guiltily. "Sorry.. I'm busy working at the cafe.." I explain

I sit down on the edge of the bed. "Is everything good with step-dad? He's good to you right?" I ask after a moment of silence. My mother laughs. "Of course. You know him." She says. "Just making sure.."

I glance at the clock. "I should get going... My shift starts in twenty minutes." I say and stand. "Call me if anything happens to Hyung, mkay?" I ask and mom nods. "I will.. Call me if you need anything, Honey.." She says. "Nice flower crown by the way." She giggles. I smile widely and nod before stepping out of the room.

I soon arrived at the cafe. I greet my co-worker before walking behind the counter. I take my apron and name tag and put them on. "I'll make the drinks. You take the orders." I tell my co-worker with a smile.

After a while my co-worker leaves me alone to work. I'll be able to clock out when Jongho decides to arrive. I'm wiping the tables clean when I hear someone walk in. A good looking guy with black hair with a green stripe walks up to the table. "Welcome." I say and walk behind the counter. "What can I get started for you?" I ask. "I'll have three iced americanos." He tells me. I nod. "I'll get that done for you." I say after the guy pays.

I start working on the drinks when I hear someone come in again. "Welc- Oh. Hi Wooyoung, Yeosang." I say smiling. Yeosang greets me back quietly while Wooyoung keeps looking around. Has he been crying again..? I think when I turn my focus back to Yeosang. "Sangie. He's there. Holy shit." Wooyoung panics. Yeosang rolls his eyes tiredly when the other one clings to his arm. I laugh gently and turn back to making the drinks.

I get the three iced americanos done and bring them to the handsome guy to see Yeosang and Wooyoung sitting with him. "Here are your drinks." I say. The three thank me and I walk back to the counter to clean.

I hear someone walk to the counter. "Sorry... I'll just chill here. I feel like a third wheel with those two.." I hear Yeosang's deepish voice say. "Then why'd you come along?" I ask him while focusing on cleaning. "When Wooyoung said he had made plans with San, I wanted to see the guy. To make sure he's good enough for my best friend." He explains. I nod. Understandable.

"How was your work shift?" I ask Yeosang. "It was alright. Same as always." He hums. I glance at him to see him take a sip from his drink. "I was right. The flower crown does suit you." He says. I laugh quietly. "I totally forgot about it. No wonder many people were staring at me today.." I say. Yeosang smiles slightly.

Someone walks into the store and both me and Yeosang glance at the person. "Welcome. What can I get started for you?" I ask with my best customer service voice. "I'll have a regular coffee and a doughnut." The male answers. He pays for his purchase and goes to sit down. I glance at Yeosang whose face has gone dark. "Yeosang-ah. Are you okay?" I ask. He seems to snap out of it.

"Ah.. Yeah.. Sorry about that." he says and smiles weakly. I nod gently not daring to pry into it anymore than that.
