45 • Darkness

Y/n pov:

It's been two weeks since my date with Kairi. We've been on two more dates since then and we're just chilling in my room after our night out at a restaurant.
"Y/n?" Kairi asks softly.
"Mhm?" I mumble as I roll onto my side and look at him.
"When do you think you'll be ready?" He asks nervously.
"Ready for what?" I ask him, confused.
"To be mine again," He says in a volume that's almost a whisper. Am I ready?
"Let me think about it," I smile and get up and go into my wardrobe. I grab some pjs and underwear and walk back to my room. "I'm going to shower," I say and lean down and kiss his cheek. As I'm walking into my bathroom, he says something I didn't expect to hear him say, not seriously.
"Y/n," He said quietly. I turn my head and look at him. "I love you," He says nervously. I smile to myself as I repeat in my head what he just said to me. Do I love him? Who am I kidding? I've always loved him. Yes I loved Mattia, I really did. He was so perfect. Kairi could never compare but me and him share a love like no other. "You don't have to say it back yet," He says softly. I smile and turn into the bathroom closing the door. I strip down my clothes and climb into the shower. I let the water run down my back as I absorb my new situation. Me and the boys closer than ever. They ship me and Kai just like they used to. I visit Mattia's mum every other Sunday. I visit his grave to and take flowers when I can. It's nice to be able to talk to him, even if he can't talk back. Me and Kairi are close, so close you can't really get closer. He sleeps over most nights, or I stay at his. I turn off the shower and climb out. I dry myself and then dress myself.

I walk out of the bathroom and see Kairi sat on my bed on his phone. He puts his phone away when he sees me. He looks at me and smiles.
"Kai?" I say nervously.
"Yes Bambi?" He smiles.
"I love you too," I say quietly. He gets up from my bed and walks over to me. He puts his hands on my waist and pulls me closer before wrapping his arms around me. He leans down to my ear.
"Say that again, baby," He whispered. Baby.
"I love you peaches," I whispered. He chuckles and pulls from my ear and looks at me.
"Why peaches?" He chuckled. I giggle and reach my hand down and squeeze his arse and he widens his eyes. "Oh," He chuckles nervously.
"Why Bambi?" I giggle.
"Because you are the cutest, sweetest, most gorgeous girl I have ever seen," He said nervously. Oh my god.
"You think too highly of me," I smile.
"No I don't," He smiles. I put my arms around his neck.
"I'm ready," I whisper. He chuckled, and leaned down to me.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He says quietly.
"Yes, yes I will," I whisper. He leans closer and closes the gap between us as he puts his lips against mine. I smile as he deepens the kiss. He bent down and put his hands on my thighs, I jump and wrap my legs around his waist as he puts his hands on my thighs to hold me up. He lays me down on the bed as he hovers over me. "Not yet," I mumble through kisses. He pulls his lips from mine and puts his knees either side of my waist. He trails his lips along my jaw and down my neck, planting kisses as he want.
"Kai," I mumble as he kisses my neck.
"Mhm," He mumbles between kisses.
"Not yet," I moan. He plants one last kiss and looks at me. He softly kisses me before laying beside me. I roll onto my side and look at him.
"Are you mad?" I ask quietly. He looks over at me with soft eyes.
"No baby, why would I be mad?" He smiles. He lifts the covers and climbs under as I follow. I put my head on his chest as he tucks us in. He rolls onto his side and looks at me. He wraps his arms around my waist.
"Where to now?" I ask him as I look into the eyes that look at me with so much love.
"Wherever life takes us," He whispers.
"Do you think the pain will ever stop?" I ask nervously.
"I'm afraid I can't answer that, but I know that I can help you, I want to be the reason you feel happy everyday," He says softly as he looks at me the way he used to.
"Do you think everything will go back to how it used to be?" I whisper.
"No, I don't think it will," He says softly.
"Why?" I ask sadly.
"Because I think we've grown since then, we can never be the same as we were because we aren't the same people," He says softly. I just nod, not knowing what else to say. "You're going to be okay y/n," He whispers.
"I don't think I will Kai," I whisper.
"Try for me y/n, let me be there for you," He said softly.
"Okay," I whisper, hoping he'll be able to help me escape the darkness that was consuming me. I yawn and snuggle my face into his chest.
"Goodnight bambi," He whispers.
"Goodnight peaches," I mumble before my eyes get heavy and the world goes dark. Leaving me to hope I don't ever wake up, despite the love the Kairi that I'm clinging to so tightly.
