Letting her eyes flutter open, she realised what had woken her in the first place; rushing to the bathroom, she'd just sunk to the floor when she began to vomit into the toilet bowl. Brushing her hair back, she sighed and stood up, holding onto the sink as she looked in the mirror; splashing her face with cold water, she noticed Peter in the mirror. Turning round, she smiled slightly at him before snuggling into his arms; kissing her hair, he lifted her chin to look at him.
"Morning sickness?" He guessed.
"I think so" she whispered.
"How you feeling? Apart from the obvious"
"Okay"
"No anxiety or anything?"
"Don't think so"
"That's good; how about we have a shower and grab some breakfast with our kids before we head home?" He suggested.
"Shower...no food"
"Okay"
After a long shower, with Peter washing her hair and massaging her back and shoulders, she felt somewhat more human; after getting dressed and making sure their cases were packed, the heading down to the dining room where Simon, Abi, Michelle and Tom were sat waiting with the two youngsters.
"Here's the newlyweds" Michelle grinned, standing up to hug Carla and hand Matilda over to her.
"Hey sweetheart, mommy and daddy missed you" she whispered, taking a seat with her daughter on her lap, holding the squirming toddler close. "Did you have a fun sleepover with Auntie Michelle?"
"Ma" she grinned, holding the bear in her hands.
"She was an angel, slept all night" Michelle confirmed. "My daughter, however, did not"
"Oh dear"
"Good job I love her; all set to head home?"
"Yeah, we're heading down to the cabin on Monday for a couple of weeks; a kind of birthday/honeymoon thing" she said, having a sip of her orange juice.
"You taking Matilda with you?"
"Yeah; I didn't think I'd be able to cope without her for so long, you know?"
"Yeah"
Noticing Carla wasn't really in the mood for a full on chat, her and Tom headed back to their room with Mia whilst Simon and Abi headed to theirs; with Matilda back in the Highchair, Peter took her hand and squeezed it.
"You okay love? You're quiet"
"I'm fine" she smiled, only slightly.
"Talk to me, eh?"
"The morning sickness...makes it real, you know? I guess...I'm scared of what happens next"
"Okay, don't jump down my throat but what's your score right now?" He asked, his head resting on the back of her head.
"I don't know, maybe a six" she shrugged.
"So you're happy but there's some level of anxiety there?"
"I suppose"
"Bad enough to need a tablet?"
"No"
"Okay, do you think you would benefit from getting referred to Scott again?"
"I don't want to go backwards Peter; I don't want to go back to the endless therapy sessions and having him assess my every move"
"I understand that love but your mental health is more important"
"Can we just, get the honeymoon over with and then see?" She asked, eyes pleading with him to agree.
