Two weeks later, Carla had woken from another horrendous nightmare; since her appointment in which they discussed all possibilities, they had been occurring every night, all similiar; sitting up, she took a couple of deep breaths as Peter switched on the lamp and handed her a glass of water, a hand rubbing her back.

"It's okay love, I'm here" he whispered.

"Sorry" she whispered back.

"It's not your fault; the same dream again?"

She nodded.

"Take some deep breaths, that's it"

Slowly, her breathing evened out again and she rested her head on his shoulder.

"Wanna talk about it?" He asked.

"Why now?"

"I'm guessing it's your anxiety coming through about the birth"

"I wish it would stop" she moaned.

"It will soon; we've got the plans in place. Our baby girl will soon be here and hopefully, they will stop"

"Can't believe we're having another girl" she whispered.

"I can, another mini you to boss me and her big brother and sister around" he chuckled.

"I'm scared Peter"

"I know but they've been monitoring your levels and everything is still good; it's all positive signs from their perspective"

"I know"

"Want me to get you a warm drink?" He offered.

When she nodded, he kissed her forehead and padded out of the room; when he re-entered the room, he found her rummaging through a familiar box at the bottom of her wardrobe.

"Love, what are you looking in there for?" He asked, putting her warm milk on the side table.

"I need to find it"

"Find what?"

"The bear; I want it out just in case"

"Love, it's already in your hospital bag; remember, we put it in there after your appointment as the midwife thought it might be a good idea"

"Oh yeah," she sighed, sitting back on the bed. "Sorry"

"It's okay; you're exhausted. Let's try and get some more sleep, eh?"

"I can't"

"Okay, we can just cuddle"

"Don't want to; can't settle"

"Okay, what do you want to do?"

"I don't know" she sighed.

By the time the sun had started to come up, Carla had been awake for hours but she had insisted Peter was to go back to sleep; with Matilda having a sleepover next door with Mia, there was no immediate rush to get ready that morning. She'd just got dressed when she felt a twinge through her abdomen; taking a deep breath, she waited for it to pass before pulling on her trainers and finding Peter in the kitchen.

"Can we go for a walk?" She asked.

"Sure, if you feel up to it?"

"I think so"

"Okay but just a short one"

They had barely made it out of the foyer before Carla stopped as another spasm occurred.

"You okay?" Peter asked.

"Yeah"

"Wanna keep going?"
