“Once upon a time in the middle of winter when the broad feathers were falling all around, a queen sat stitching by a window with an ebony frame. While she was sewing, she looked out at the snow and pricked her finger with the needle. A drop of blood fell on the snow below..”
The Queen's eyes fell on the ground, observing the droplet paint the snow red.
“Oh, if only I had a child as white as snow, as red as blood and as black as the wood of the window frame.” She sighed then rested her chin on her palms.
The set dimmed, Lisa joined the propsmen quickly changing the setting while the curtains close.
The stage lights flickered open, along was a mellow sound coming from the theater room's speakers. A whistling melody was heard. Soon, a girl came out, a skin white as snow (his skin is originally olive but to match the description, he obliged to wear foundation) cheeks red like blood (a lot of blush), and hair that is black like a charcoal (he misses his ash hair).
Yes, it's Taehyung.
Lisa bit on her nails, nervous, but Taehyung's grin comforted her. Snow White was holding a basket filled with fruits, she danced around, her dress twirling. The crowd laughed, totally not expecting the twist.
Snow White strut as she exit the setting, meaning, another change will take place. Lisa forgot her fright and just went with the flow. While carrying the tree prop, she bumped with Jennie that is wearing a dark gown.
"You look very pretty."
"Am I? Anyway, I love my role as the step mom, this gown is fabulous."
Days ago, they tried casting Jennie as the Snow White, but she refused, saying she'd rather be the evil queen. Her popularity is an edge so they granted her wish, thinking about it now, Lisa should've pushed her more.
After their small chat, Jennie walked towards the stage, her head held high. The crowd cheered, because one, it's Jennie Kim, and two, literally, who wouldn't?
"Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest one of all?"
"You, my queen is lovely and incredibly beautiful, but Snow White is incomparable, her beauty is on par to none."
The queen refused to believe what she just heard. She asked the mirror, twice, thrice, multiple times and yet she remained unhappy.
She shouted with grief, with her veins popping off, she spoke through gritted teeth. "That kid shouldn't have lived. She should perish!"
"Oh sheet, chills." Lisa jumped a little after someone suddenly spoke behind her. It's Taehyung, still clad on his costume.
"Pfft, you look prettier than me."
He flicked his fake hair then smiled, "Of course I do."
"Stop brushing your beauty on my face and go there, good luck!"
