No POV:

A deep red trail of lightning cross through the city of Musutafu, leaving nothing but a blanket of dread wherever it went. It had been on the move for quite some time, knowing that it needed to stop eventually but in that moment, it needed to put as much distance between Dylan and himself as possible.

Surge knew if Dylan pulled off his stunt, there would be hell to pay. If the young Speedster was to be taken by the Black Racer, he'd need as much time as possible to prepare.

Appearing within a familiar space, Surge stumbled outside the confines of the City limits. Where nature had yet to be touched by whims of man or monster. Falling to his knees, the exhausted Speedster slumped against a tree, sweat drenching his skin.

Heaving a deep breath, he couldn't keep in a weak cough that turned into another. He was hungry, exhausted and sore. There was nothing more he wanted than to rest. Letting his head fall back, his yellow eyes stared up in a daze at the starry nebula unhindered by the pollution of light from the city.

"What are you gonna do now, Denki?" He managed to whisper to himself, he liked talking to himself. It made him feel less alone. As he pondered on the question, he felt a sudden wave of energy wash over him. His eyes darted towards the clearing. He found himself standing, slowly limping towards the opening to feel another surge of energy that erupted from within the city limits.

His mind swirled, coming to a single conclusion. "Dylan, you tough bastard" Although he hated the young man, the man out of time could understand that Dylan does have a tendancy to pull off the impossible.

You get it from your Mother.

As soon as he conjured the thought, he shook it away. Holding himself together, a new sense of determination pulsed through him. Like so many times before, when he felt like he couldn't move forward, there was something that just gave him a little nudge. "Damn it. You just had to go screw it all up!" He shouted, stumbling back as he took in the surroundings.

He wasn't far from where he'd battle the League and their new Liberation Front. He found it a joke now, their beliefs and ideals. How they tried to push for ture freedom for Meta-Humans when the true Meta-Humans, the ones who came from the Particle Accelerator were forced into the darkness.

All that drama, yet he found himself feeling a sense of fondness over that day. It was from a time where he was naive and truly became a Hero. "Chargebolt" He spat, it was a terrible name.

So is Surgebolt...

He cursed hismelf under his breath. Why was he even there in the first place? Right... There was more to the story than he'd let on. He set out to save Rien, to dismantle Dylan's ideals. To push him to the brink but every single time he got close. "I COULDN'T DO IT!!"

Denki screamed and roared, scaring away the local wildlife as he collasped once more. The strain of being caught between time was eating away at him. With his new speed, he was indeed faster but the rules of the Speed-Force were far heavier on his body.

Two timelines were crashing together. The one he came from, where everything felt so dark and the current one. His younger self was not where he was supposed to be, at least that is what is memory tells him.

You don't know who you are anymore... You need me to give you a little push...

It was true, he had another voice in the back of his head whispering such profound truth. "What...do I do?" His mind had been scattered across time and space. "Will you help me once more?"

I give you the means to become his equal when you were nothing and you still beg for more?...

The voice was right. "You're/I'm pathetic..."
