Patton's POV
Roman and Logan look at the door in fear. They had heard that voice before. That Earnest guy I bet. I look over Logan's shoulder at Virgil. His face was a mixture of anger, pain and pure fear. Earnest knocks again, his cheery voice turning into a annoyed one.
"Hello? Open the door please. Open the door. Open it now." Virgil gets off the couch and slowly backs away, shaking his head. Logan visibly gulps and starts to get off the couch, but is stopped by Virgil grabbing his arm. Logan looks back at Virgil, who is vigorously shaking his head. Earnest knocks again, but this time very hard.
"Hello?! Someone just open this god forsaken door or I will open it for you!" He says, anger evident in his voice. Logan gives Virgil apologetic look before he walks over to the door, Roman on his tail. After they walk up I put a hand on Virgil's shoulder and walk over to the door after the others, keeping Virgil behind me. I don't want to put him in danger, but I don't want him out of my sight, just in case. Logan looks at all of us, making sure we are ready, then he yanks open the door.
"Well, isn't this nice. All of my...favorite...people in one place." He says. A smirk plastered on his face. "Roman, how wonderful to see you up and at em. Logan...splendid to see you...not in a ditch dieing a horrible death. Patton, nice to meet you. And my dearest Virgil, so nice to see you again." He says. I hear Virgil's breath quickening.
"What do you want Earnest?" Logan says, the coldness he is so famous for in his voice.
" I want nothing more than to talk with you!" He says.
"We both know that's not true." Logan retorts.
"Fiinnnee. I just anted to warn you of something."
"And what would that be?"
Earnests voice changed into a dark, cold one.
"Something is going to happen. A very bad thing. And you all better be ready. For if you aren't, your precious little Virgil will come with me. And the rest of you will have a very, very painful death. Goodbye now!" And with that, he turned and walked away.
Logan shut the door and locked it.
"I cant believe he came back." He said. It was silent for a few moments before a deep voice was heard from behind me.
"Back?" He said. I turned around to look at Virgil with wide eyes.
"what do you mean 'back'?" He says again.
Roman tries to talk but his voice gets caught in his throat. He clears his throat then tries speaking again.
"he came by before. He wanted you..." He said.
Virgil clenches his fists at his side.
"Of course he did...and why did you not tell me? If he wanted me I had a right to know! Do you even know what he is capable of? If you would have told me before so much could be avoided! Roman wouldn't have gotten hurt! Earnest wouldn't have come hear with a literal death threat! You guys always say that we are family. So if we really re family, you should trust me enough to tell me these things! Why doesn't any one ever have enough trust in me to tell me the important things?! He is more powerful than you can ever know!!! Now we are all in danger thanks to you!! I HAD A RIGHT TO KNOW!!" When he says the last word loud thunder cracks in the sky, even though its a completely clear day.
He is breathing heavy and he stomps upstairs and slams his door shut so hard the door wobbles on its hinges. Me, Roman and Logan or completely frozen in pace. He spoke. And his first words to us were out of anger. Tears start rolling down my cheeks. He didn't speak because he trusted us, he spoke because he was so angry he forgot to not speak. He probably hates us now. I place a hand over my mouth to keep the sobs from escaping. I go over to the couch and sink into the cushions as I think about all the things I did wrong today.
Sorry for the short chapter, but I wanted to get one up but I wasn't feeling to writing that much today. But I hope you enjoyed Virgil's first words and I will you guys hopefully next week!
