I watched as they numbed Élie up as he breathed with tears trickling down his face. I smoothed his hair back as I held his hand in mine whispering to him."It's time baby, we about to see our little girl. I love you so much—thank you for carrying out child." I kissed off his tears as he smiled at me as the doctor started the surgery.
It was a long time it felt like until we heard that loud screeching cry and I saw her being lifted up. Just hollering with all that nasty gunk on her but I payed it no mind. My babygirl was here and she was healthy screaming her little heart out.
I cut her umbilical cord as I looked back at Élie. He had a loopy smile but he looked relieved. One of the nurses cleaned her up a bit and allowed me to hold her and man am I scared as fuck.
She's so tiny, yet she had the cutest little puffy cheeks. Tiny little coos came out her mouth as she sighed a bit before settling against me. I looked down at Élie with a bright smile as he laughed at me a little before waving his hand towards him.
I bent down carefully so he could see her and he broke down crying even more. He rubbed her small hand with his finger as she gripped it in hers.
I admired her face as it's just how I imagined. Élie was right though. She was the perfect mix of us—had his lips and my facial structure just a little bit. Those slanted eyes that have yet to peek open and show me those pretty orbs.
I know they're beautiful, just like her.
Kinsley Anne Canuo, my girl.

I sat with my head against the window as I watched Élie sleep off his anesthesia. I couldn't even express how grateful I am for him and the fact he has to put up with me.
