Chapter 31 - Kiss Ass

Australia is crazy beautiful. It's funny, I always imagined kangaroos hopping around everywhere, but it's nothing like that. I love it here.

The show in Adelaide went great and VIP was relatively smooth. Only a few fans came up to us and Emmileigh was called out as Donnie's new girlfriend by a few New Kids fans. I thought it was hilarious and even Emmileigh laughed about it.

She hasn't been as nervous since she and Donnie went to the doctor and found out that it was a false positive. I had a feeling it would be. I don't know why. I know she takes her birth control pills like clock work, because I remember commenting about it one of the first nights of the tour.

I know it freaked Nick out a little, but I think he realizes that I don't want that myself. I never have wanted to have kids. They're too much work. They're too needy. I can barely take care of myself, much less another human living being.

I just can't wait until Nick finds out I bought the house next to his. He wanted me close and well, I got as close as I could without moving in with him. He'll find out soon enough.

Emmileigh and I are leaving the tour after the last Australian show and heading back to London, where she's going to start work on her Visa stuff. I'm going to head to Charlotte to meet up with Nick when the tour is over, spend a few days before going on the cruise and then heading to California where he'll find out I'm his new neighbor.


"What are you thinking about?" Emmileigh asked as I jumped out of my thoughts, looking at her as we sat at a restaurant, eating lunch. "You're twirling that strand of hair around your finger like crazy and bitin' down on your lips. Do I even want to know?"

"Nick suggested last night that we just stay in Charlotte until the cruise, which makes sense, but I don't know," I said, leaning back in my chair. "I gave my apartment up and my stuff is all in storage."

"Worried about your family?" she asked as I nodded.

"I'm surprised my real father hasn't come around yet since everybody knows I won the lottery," I sighed, looking down at my bracelet. "I just, I don't know how my Mom will react to Nick and everything. Especially with the fact that I'm moving to California basically because of him."

"At least you finally admit that to yourself," Emmileigh smiled as I rolled my eyes. "I mean, who would have thought Nick Carter would be the one that didn't want to just fuck around and wanted a relationship."

"I know, right?"

"I think it's good though," Emmileigh said as I looked back at her. "Going home for a few days and then going on the cruise. Then you can both go to California and you won't have to just up and leave. If anything, go to Miami a few days early or something. Go visit Nick's parents."

"Shut up," I said, causing her to laugh.

"Urrghhh!" I groaned and sat myself on the couch in the New Kids dressing room. Jon was stood across from the couch, looking in the mirror as I shifted on the couch and groaned.

"You don't sound so healthy," Jon commented. I looked up to see him watching me through the mirror.

"You don't wanna know.. seriously." I grabbed a cushion and hugged it.

"Try me." He turned around and moved to the couch, sitting beside me.

I couldn't help but chuckle. "Ok, seriously? I'm cramping. I feel like my insides are about to fall out of my vagina and I don't like it."

Jon pulled a face before cracking up. "Ok, I definitely didn't wanna know that."

I smiled and closed my eyes, leaning my head back. "Is Donnie still out with AJ?"

"Yea. They'll probably forget about anything else and be back here. Men and their golf," Jon replied, making me laugh.

"Ah, well at least they are out doing normal things for a change," I commented before yawning.

"So, apart from your raging period, things ok with you and Donnie?"

I looked up at Jon and smiled. "Yes, why would you ask?"

Jon gave me a bashful look. "He talks to me."

"Ah. So you know about.." I trailed off, watching Jon as he nodded.

"The false pregnancy? Yea. You don't mind, do you? That Donnie told me. I told him to let you know that he'd told me.. I guess he didn't."

I shook my head. "He didn't. But then I already knew that the both of you were close. I mean he had to talk to someone, right? I have Karsyn, and well.. Nick knew too."

"So you're ok with me knowing stuff?"

I smiled. "As long as it's not my deepest darkest secrets, then I'm cool with it."

Jon smiled at me. "Donnie said we'd get on well. He was right."

"Dude, have you forgotten our shopping trip? No one ever gets on with me shopping. Karsyn does, but she's like my other half anyways. We're gonna be great friends, I can tell." I smiled at Jon, who laughed.

"Good. I can see that you're perfect for Donnie."

I wrinkled my nose and smiled. "Aw, thanks. Now.. tell me the gossip on Donnie... bad habits, any juicy secrets I can tease him with?"

Jon moved closer to me on the couch and grinned. "Well.. there was this one time..."
