Draco felt weird. Kind of awkward, kind of weird.
"You look..." He's not quite sure which adjective should he use.
"It's fine, Draco. No need for such formalities." Astoria Greengrass chuckled.
Victoria knew her, Astoria was younger than them and was having trouble with some subjects. Victoria was kind enough to help the younger witch because both of hem know, her older sister Daphne, will never help her.
Both girls became pretty close, so when Victoria came to her decision, she was quick to go to Astoria.
She didn't want Draco to go there alone and luckily enough, Astoria wasn't really planning on going with a partner to the ball. So, she asked of he younger witch to at least accompany Draco to thr ball.
Although, Draco really doesn't feel like going to the ball. He's been to balls loads of times already so, he wanted to skip this one because he's already acquainted with what's about to happen.
"Let's just get this over with, yeah?" She smiled softly, hooking her arm with his and leading him to the hall.
Dancing was fun, but Draco's not feeling it anymore.
And he's quite grateful that so was Astoria.
"I'm going to bed." Astoria yawned, they were still seated by the tables and just finished their dinner.
"Yeah, Me too." Both of them got up and went to their separate dormitories in the dungeons in silence.
Yep, it was boring without Victoria around, Draco thought to himself as he got in his bed in his pajamas.
"It's time you know everything, Victoria."
Her heart was ramming wildly inside her chest.
"When Salazar Slytherin's daughter left for America, he was devastated." Her eyebrows furrowed, Salazar Slytherin? How long is this story dated then? What's happening?
"Even more so, when she married a muggle." That story, Victoria knew many times. Her mother often told her that story when she was younger, how Slytherin's daughter braved to marry a man who knows nothing of he magical world, how she was able to fair well in America, and how she was able to make her own legacy there.
"He cursed her, you see. The pain of loosing his only daughter to a muggle, he never hated them more when he heard the news. He cursed her and her children, he couldn't accept the fact that his little girl chose the life on the other country than being with her father."
"He, himself, alone in Europe, while his daughter is enjoying her new life in the new world."
"That was around the time he left Hogwarts too. He wanted to make his revenge, but how? He does not know. Not until, his daughter came back with her family. She was so hopeful her father would accept them. But, when he saw her muggle husband and the half-blood little girl, he hated them. He didn't want them, nor did he want them back in the country or anywhere his other children."
"He curse her and her lineage. Told them that if ever any one of their descendants produce an heir with either of the descendants of the Hogwarts founders, the offspring will pay the price. His daughter was scared as she can be and forbid her children to go back. She told them all about the curse and they also told their children about it." Victoria was confused now, if Slytherin placed a curse on their lineage why is it not affecting anyone of them? She's well aware her mother is under the family tree of both Salazar Slytherin and Rowena Ravenclaw.
