I wake up in a familiar room.
"How are you sweetie?" I hear a familiar voice of a woman.
The room is very dim and I can't see much.
"Good, I guess."
"You were beat up pretty bad. You were in a coma."
"I was? Well, when did I come home?"
"Yesterday the doctor said you woke up but that you went unconscious again. But you were in a coma for 2 weeks. However, he did say that you were well enough to come home. You just needed a lot of rest." She says as she turn on the lights.
"MOM!" I got up, ran to her, and hugged her. She hugs me back. A tight hug.
"I missed you mom. It feels like I haven't seen you in forever."
"It's only been a few weeks. You were in Florida studying biology. You were robbed. You were knocked down and landed hard on your head, after you woke up the doctor said its just minor-ish concussion." She says as she makes me lay down again.
" I don't remember mom."
"It's okay you're here now."
She hasn't changed much. A couple of gray hairs, tan skin, black hair, light
brown eyes, people say we look almost identical. I'm only slightly taller.
"Um, mom?"
"Yes?"
"Where are we?" She laughed a little
"North Carolina. We're home, in your room. "
But I couldn't help but feel that I was missing something, or someone. So I asked my mom.
"Mom?"
"Yes, Tess?"
"Have you heard from Edwin?"
