A text massage said from Shawn.

Can we meet ?

I texted him back.

I need to get drunk today, maybe that will ease the burn in my chest.

Sure, when should I pick you ?

At 9 pm, from the hospital

I typed and hit sent.

I went to my house to take hot shower and get changed then I took the bus to the hospital.

I hugged Fred as I arrived and sat on the chair beside him.

" You okay sweet heart ? " he asked.

" Yes, I am just tired" I lied.

" Don't lie to me girl, is it something related to that hot boss of yours ? " he asked and I looked at him surprised.

"What ? It's not that hard to tell that there is something going on between you too" he said laughing.

" But you saw him once " I said.

" It was enough" he said.

" Whatever, he is a jerk anyway" I said and laid beside him.

" Why ? Did he do something to you ? " He asked concenrned.

" Not to me, but it affected me" I admitted.

" But he seems so nice, and gentle" he said.

" I know, I fucking know" I said.

I leaned down to take my phone from my bag so I slipped and amost fell but Fred grabbed me from my arm to pull me back.

My hurt one, so I screamed in pain.

" Ouch ! " I said.

" You okay ? " he asked.

" Yes, it's just, I was doing parkour and I hurt it" I lied.

" Let me see" he said taking off my jacket but I moved away.

" I am fine Fred, don't worry about it, it's nothing" I said and he certainly didn't believe me, so I changed the subject.

" So next week are the test of how the chemo is working with your body right ? " I asked.

" Yes, it's next week" he replied.

I know.

" I am sure they are going to be all good" I said.

" Yeah, I hope so" he said.

I am in front of the hospital's main door

Shawn's text appeared on the phone.

" And who's this one ? " Fred asked.

" Someone I hope not a playboy" I said and kissed him goodbye.

" Be careful Gwen, please, I am already so worried about you, staying at this hospital away from you is killing me, so please, pay attention to what you do and don't, okay ? " he said.

" I know dear, I am so fine" I said smiling and left the room.

Shawn was waiting for me in his car and he got out when he saw me coming.

" Hey" he said.

" Where to ? " he asked.

" Somewhere I can get drunk in" I said and got inside the car as he opened the door for me.

" To my house then" he said.
