Brian got back from spending time with his soulmates at the end of September and was static to be back with Aila. He had missed her so so much. When he saw her at the airport entrance waiting for him, his heart filled with love. He ran up to her and squeezed her figure in his arms. He was so happy to be out of the New York life style. That city is crazy. He did not like it up there, not to live nor visit. He enjoyed North Carolina better. In 30 mins he would be back in his apartment with the love of his life.
Aila still had to deliver the news she had accepted touring with BTS. She thought these news had to be delivered face to face. She knew he would be happy for her, but she couldn't stop thinking of how things are changing, and nothing can be done.
"I miss the air!!!" Brian took a deep breath as they stepped out of the car at their apartment complex. "New York smells like shit, the people are so rude! And I lost like 5lbs walking everywhere."
"Why are your soulmates up there?"
"The businesses Van owns are there and in Cali. Maria is a graphic designer like me. Nyala is a in a fashion company and Antônia is a police officer."
"Woow look at you being all artistic and stuff." Aila was bragging one of his luggage. "What the fuck do you have in here? Rocks?" Brian chuckled as he saw Aila struggling. He had bought her a new mirrorless camera with some lenses, a necklace and some other souvenirs. He thought about her every single day. Even when he was bonding and having fun with his soulmates, he missed her.
Once they were inside, cloths put back and everything fixed, he picked Aila up and threw her in the bed, climbed on top of her and laid there. Just on top of her. He missed her soo bad. He missed having to fight her for cuddles. His soulmates were the opposite. He missed her snappy and snarky comebacks to his sweet comments, her eye rolls. He missed how they fought and pushed each other from time to time on the bed, just for fun.
What he missed the most was going to bed with her. They always spend some time in each other's company, just saying dumb stuff, laughing at videos and purposely farting to piss the other off. He wasn't this comfortable with his soulmates. He had a rocky start and hesitation on his side of the bond. The others were bonding just fine, falling in love with him day by day.
But he still felt love for Aila. He felt like home laying on top of her.
"Amor, remember when you said I should go with them?" Brian just nodded his head and gave her a kiss on her neck.
"Ewww can you not do that!" Brian kissed her again. "You know I don't like kisses on my neck."
"Yeah I know." Another kiss.
"Anyways, I thought about what you said and how you took a chance with your soulmates, so I thought I would do the same."
Aila waited for a response from Brian. He had his eyes closed, head in the crook of her neck, and she was running her hand through his hair. After some time he finally said something.
"So you are going with them on tour?"
"I almost didn't. I was really close to saying no but I thought about you and what you told me and I said yes. But I'm freakin out. It's seven men meeting their last piece. Can you imagine the exorbitant state they are going to go into? What if they do something to me? I'm not comfortable with anyone else but you. I'm made to you, not them."
"Baby, you will be fine."
"How it go with your soulmates?" Brian thought it went pretty good.
"I don't know if it's because of the bond but I got along with them. They are fun to be around and they weirdly understand me. There were times I couldn't explain myself but they understood me. They gave me just enough space, they are sweet and they like to cuddle. They like art, they like music. It's hard to explain but they are like my best friends." Brian didn't realize but Aila was getting hurt by those words. He had such a dreamy look in his face. She knew he would soon enough be falling in love with them, all of them. She chuckled at the thought of him freaking out over loving Van. She could already hear him freaking out.
"Why are you laughing?"
"Oh nothing, don't mind me."
They both knew things were slowly changing between them and they knew they would never be the same. This was the truth they had to deal with, but neither of them spoke about it that night or the nights that passed. They focused in each other's company.
They laughed, went out on dates, went to museums, took late rides on Aila's motorcycles. They shared so much love over the next coming up months. They couldn't be together as lovers, but both knew their love was pure and genuine. Both decided when their hearts were ready to let go, they would. When their hearts would finally bond to their soulmates, they would.
They knew they would be together with each other, they had promised each other the next 80 years, and they would, as lovers and best friends; as people who knew true love and what true "soulmates" meant. For they had found love very few people find. Because they had proven soulmates have nothing to do with the windows to the soul.
